They should avoid the end of Feb.

The media would be busy covering Horizon Zero Dawn at that time.

An Open Beta indeed, and a new region.

They would indeed, with it releasing March 1, that weekend would not get the marketing impact of say 17th 19th. It would make most sense to do run the OB next week, as its still 2 weeks from launch, enough time to get people discussing, and buying, and also HZD has not dropped.

Yep. I think they might well do that, which is fine by me, more Wildlands to play soon

If the devs want to incorporate some gameplay tweaks and additions gathered from the beta feedback as a Day 1 patch, then the OB should be carried out asap. Also bearing in mind that the patch has to be certified by 2 different console manufacturers to be deployed in time for the game launch.

No point going head to head with HZD at the end of Feb and the first week of Mar. Everything else would be lost in the noise generated by the launch of HZD.

Weekend of 25th and 26th of February seems like a solid candidate for open beta. It would be used more like a server stress test than real beta as with barely 10 days to release, there wont be time for any changes other than major bug fixes (which should have been captured in closed beta or earlier) and performance improvements to infrastructure.

I also received the email with survey and mention of open beta coming soon. They also suggested, at least as I interpreted it, that a new province would be available in open beta, which is attractive for closed beta participants as we would not be replaying same region again and again.

I'm already leaning toward buying GRW but if open beta can deliver some improvements or at least reconfirm my experience from closed beta, I might pre-order it rather than wait for release and first reviews.

Mmmmmm, so many games releasing in next few weeks....where to find time to play them all!

With release on 7th march its likely we will see the open beta launch just a few days before that date. Maybe even in the weekend 4-5th.
Open Beta is to make any last minute "tweaks" with a larger server load. 4th/5th is gonna be way too close to release.

they just did exactly that with for honor dude!!! tha beta was from feb 9 to 12 and the game launch the 14 at midnight est. So I don't see why they wont do the same for ghost recon. And I don't think they would launch for honor and in the same week make there sales drop by doing an open beta of ghost recon... I say it will be from march 2 to march 5 and then launch the 7th and you can pre-load the game on march 5th plus there is no pvp in ghost recon so less problem to solve...
