Do you get matched with people who are in the same faction that you have you choose at the beginning or is it mixed? Im ok with having different heroes in one team (I would love a specific mode without that btw) but having players that are assigned to different factions being in the same team makes the faction war kinda meaningless. Why would i want to help my teamate to win to deploy war assets against my faction? Please tell me that is not the case

Faction war is meaningless, it's just there to build up hype and make people invested in a useless choice.

You will be placed with people from each faction, but your performance on the battlefield determines the progression of your own faction in the war. I think people have posted videos on youtube describing how it works in detail.
