Issues and Improvements seen so far
It is really sad to me to see the exact same issue with Wildlands as we have seen with The Division, which is “casualty“. Again, the game seemed to be designed for chimps and not humans. Especially the AI is in a horrible state and absolutely inadequate to provide a tactical and challenging experience even when playing solo and not considering a game with 3 more humans involved.
How can one destroy 2 very valuable brands in 2 years? Remember what Einstein said, “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. Got it?
There is too much over everything. When playing on Ghost difficulty, this should be considred:
First of all, please get rid of the 3D spotting mechanic. This makes things so easy and should be removed completely. I would remove the minimap spotting as well (and probably the entire minimap). Then the availability of supplies. Only in main bases there should be supplies. If you run out of ammo, get some from your team mates and be smarter next time.
Another thing are 2 main weapons. Honestly, from a game concept perspective, this makes the idea of a ghost team useless if any of them is a jack of all trades. From a realism point of view, this is ridiculous. Just imagine a bolt action with scope, bipod and suppressor might be about 15kg. Then an assault rifle (loaded), probably 10kg. The ammo for those 2 weapons 100 .308 rounds and 25 .338 rounds would be about additional 3kg. Then pistol, binos, drone, mines, grenades, etc…. I guess you got it. Now please consider how easy it is to carry about 50 to 150 kg of supplies on an altitude of minimum 3000 meters above see level (yes Bolivia is in the Andean chain).
Because of this is would also limit the inventory not only to 1 main weapon only, but also to only view gadgets or make a heavy penalty on being over crumbled (as Arma does). So you cannot run and move even slower when reaching a threshold. Scope sway should be increasing, because the 150kg supply guy will be out of breath all day long.
Weapons mechanics are much too easy as well, lacking a realistic damage model and bullet deviation. I would like to have a wind mechanic for long range sniping as well (as Arma), but this would make the game to a sniper simulator which might be too much for most….
There should also be no option revive. Dead is dead.
The skill system. This is a bit off topic, because it’s a more general issue. I personally do NOT like games where everyone can make anything and thus just simulate team work, because one actually doesn’t need it. I know the example I will use now is a bit much, but I want to see more character development approaches like EVE Online have.
I know this is difficult, because the common immature narcissist desperately what’s to be something/someone special. A hero. A dominator and what not, but this is so boring, because at the end of the day all characters are just clones of the other. There no reason at all play as a group if anyone can do anything anyways.
