yea u can change gender in the customization menu of the champion, just as easy as changing skin tone, or armour colorur/skins

I agree. It is misleading, as some of the Heroes are gender-locked.

There's 2 gender locked characters on each faction, one male and one female.

The only female characters are: Peacekeeper, Valkyrie and Nobushi.
The only Male characters are: Lawbringer, Warlord and Shugoki.

Beside those, every other character can be male or female.
