..and I received a response from a Ubisoft employee saying that he would pass along the suggestion to the development team. However, that post on the forums as since been deleted for some reason.

Does anyone know if these options will be in before launch? The guard break icon is practically invisible to my red-green colorblind eyes.

Hopefully they do. Best bet is contacting support, tweeting and trying to get their attention. Didn't have enough of a look through the options but the open beta is later today depending on timezone.
