Similar to a parry, it's a bit harder in my experience, as in it has to be done slightly later than a regular parry.

Hi, excelent guide! One question if you happen to know:
Does the heavy attack parry window have any start up frames?
What I mean is, if you guard in the direction of an incoming attack and hit heavy attack at the last frames before the attack would connect, will you parry or get hit?
Sometimes I feel like I should've parried somethineg but get hit instead (I don't even block it), and I'm not sure If a changed guards to late or if I parry has some startups or i messed up something else :S
Game is preety fast and my reflexes are comparable only with an old cow

    Parries are instant, no startup.

From the main menu go to How to Play and select Advanced Tutorial

practice parrying against the bot, should give you the basic feel

    Great guide.

a wooden cart or anything that doesn't kill you or light you on fire that character will enter the Wall Stun state
You still get a wall splat from whatever it is on fire.

If they get set on fire I find they often don't get wall stunned, or the wall stun is shorter, as I've often thrown people into fire (with a wall behind it) as a Kensei and then had them dodge out of the way of my overhead unblockable, which is normally guaranteed.

This is a superb post, by the standards of any forum anywhere on the internet.

Thanks for taking the time to create tiny looping gifs for particular, specific scenarios (like the dodge into an attack.. very helpful.)

I've played 16 hours in 3 days and this guide taught me well.

Credit for some of those gifs goes to the Hall of Heroes, whom also produce guides. The link to one of those is in my post near the top.

At the moment I think only 3 or 4 of them are mine.
