The game has it's issues but overall it's a game that can be played like farcry or with the proper in game settings, it really feels like a true Ghost Recon game. Hopefully the AI is improved before or patched after launch but even with the current state of the game (hopefully with more optimization) some people found how to make the game much more enjoyable for traditional ghost recon players and tactical gamers. As seen in Devil Dogs video here , by turning off the hud options and playing on Ghost damage, it completely changes how the game has to be played to win. Below are my suggestions on how to offer a true ghost recon experience for those who want it, while letting other players enjoy the game on a lower difficulty.
- Change the incoming damage of Veteran to be the same as Ghost
- Change Ghost difficulty to have all hit markers, spotting icons, minimap, and other HUD items hidden
- Perhaps add a compass you can pop up like ARMA to navigate yourself, similar to hitting a button in ARMA to pop one up
- Reward players by giving a slight XP increase for playing on veteran and perhaps a 25% bonus for playing on GHOST
- Make a couple cosmetic items limited to rewards for completing the entire campaign on a higher difficulty. This would encourage people to try harder difficulties and even add some replay value if people want to replay the campaign on a higher difficulty
- With lots to do we will still finish the campaign, perhaps a PRESTIGE type system is in order. After finishing the main story offer a chance to REPLAY the story but you keep your level and unlocks. Even possibly add unique weapon or cosmetic items to find along with a prestige symbol
I feel by adding a true challenging Ghost mode that rewards people for stepping out of their comfort zone would really enhance the approach to this game. You would be offering a more true Ghost Recon experience but still offer a more casual one to those who just want to have fun. With no clear roadmap for patches and DLC, a prestige option to replay the game seems like a great idea, as players will find themselves with nothing to do just like we did in the beta once we finished the missions. These simple ideas would have the added benefit of increasing the longevity of the game and keeping people involved while waiting for future DLC and patches. What are your thoughts?
I like the compass idea. Now, what if you have like a mission prep hub, a maphub where the players can take a quick look at the map, so they can plan and double check their waypoints.
Further more, the drone should be continuous, and when its disabled, its disabled, gone.
The guy says its tactical and he's running around the whole map, knows exactly when to stop to shoot 2 people, He is either using the force to know where the baddies are or he did the maps a few time and knows exactly where the tangos will spawn. Runs some more, just to get that adrenaline going, gets into a tassel with some baddies, all of a sudden another player appears (he was playing co-op, ok), starts to shot some tangos that are persistent in coming from the same place that their friends just got kicked to the curve, one of the tangos walks towards them even though his driver just got his body plastered all over the seat and him, the player with the sniper rifle manages to go gray a few times but did not die (what level of difficulty is he playing again?), then an armed to the teeth helo comes in, sprays him full of lead but he does not die? What is the helo shooting with, BB pellets?
Fun game? sure, I can even see the appeal. Tactical? hmmm, ok, once you know where everybody will be.... Ghost Recon? not so much.
Unless you play it tactical that is ... LOL
I will like to see him repeat that same thing he just did, which it appears he knows the map very well but playing Solo with the Ai Teammates. I did love the fact that he was able to grab the MSR and put some hurt on them boys.
You are right though... all it takes is a few tweaks. The question is... Will UBI bother doing the tweaks.
I bet they won't seeing as to how those tweaks were asked about 2 years ago.
I get what your saying, and I feel the Ghost mode should even have a warning or notice saying it is recommended to play with other players instead of AI. Sure you could try it with AI but the real experience is with coop.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
It's pretty clear Ubisoft isn't very concerned with Solo players for this one. It's been said by pretty much EVERYONE on Youtube that the games only really clicks in coop, which is to say, if you like serious solo gaming, this probably isn't for you.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
A shame for the GR fans... :'( We shouldn't get half a game for 60 bucks unless we have online friends to play with.
