Dear Ubisoft: camouflage patterns need some work!

First off, I want to say that I absolutely love the character customization in the game! It's leagues above what we had in GRAW and R6V etc. so kudos to Ubisoft. That being said, I have some issues (which probably won't be addressed) with the colours and patterns that are present:

    1. The coyote brown and sandstone colours are far too dark. They are difficult to differentiate and hardly resemble their real life namesakes. As it stands, there is no proper coyote brown gear except for the gun paint.
    2. Many of the patterns themselves are far too big and the shades are inaccurate. Off the top of my head, I remember AOR1 camo looking awful. This seems like something a quick google search would have easily solved.
    3. What is the purpose of patterns like multicam when they have horrendous black MOLLE webbing when equipped to our gear? Camouflage is supposed to help with concealment. Infact, just about every pattern has black MOLLE webbing save for maybe grey and olive drab which leads to a very inconsistent look. The webbing should either be the same colour as the base pattern or at least some complementary colour.
    4. Black is way too dark. I know this sounds like a nitpick but it's too hard to make out the details of the guns and gear. I often used coyote brown as a black substitute (see point #1).
    5. Some items of clothing have more camo patterns than others. This is a really strange choice and only hampers the players ability to have consistent matching gear. I honestly can't think of a reason for this restriciton.
    6. The Crye combat shirt look terrible. The multicam pattern on the shirt is significantly darker than any other piece of equipment. The grid pattern covering the entire shirt is also quite distracting, inaccurate, and unnecessary.

That's all I can recall at the moment. I'll edit this post if I think of any more. I would love to hear other's thoughts on this. Thanks for reading!

100% Agree, Hope they fix this before the full release; Atleast the shading of the uniforms to match tops and bottoms

They should add camo coats as well like The Division.. And grass camo for your weapons. And Crye Woodland pants. Don't know how they missed that.

I was glad to see they got the AOR1 color scheme right (unlike in Future Soldier, where it had way too much red in it), but severely disappointed I couldn't pattern the Crye shirt and pants in it. I'm currently running AOR1 pattern kit with MultiCam arid clothing which looks good, but I'd still rather be able to run AOR1 entirely. So, yeah, all clothing items should have all patterns.

I agree with you 100%. And we should be able to have every colour/pattern option for every piece of clothing, not restricted.

But I just want to add.

The CADPAT camo looks PERFECT. Well done for finally getting CADPAT done properly in a game!

to be fair I'd be happy if they just removed all that Kryptech garbage. some of the worst camo Ive ever laid eyes upon

keeping the camo pallet limited to north American patterns (US and Canadian) works for me (for now) as looking at it from a commercial point of view they can get some easy cash influx with cheap DLC camo packs.
I'd certianly buy a European camo pack or a Russian Camo pack (my character looks like a Bodark Rifleman anyways)

hell... if they want to go adventurous I'd jump at the chance have JSF, EFEC and SGB equipment and lets say 2 to 3 camo patterns from each faction in EndWar

I totally agree. I was very disappointed when i fired up the game and started making my character. AOR1&2 both look like ****. The pattern is not the same, AOR1 looks like CADPAT TW with oversized pattern and AOR2 looks like a mix between marpat and surpat. Some of the other camos look ****ty aswell like the m81.
