Reason why i will not buy the game or want to play in the beta are:
1.Defensive play is too op, i can just block/dodge/guardbrake all the time and counter attack 24/7 and win all matches
2.Guard Brake spam, its not the that you cant counter it, you can, its the fact that an opponent guard braking you 24/7 results in you doing the same in order to counter him (or spam light attack but this will not work if you play heavy class vs a fast one) meaning you also have to guard brake spam vs that opponent which is annoying
3.Too repetitive, between the guard brake spam, dodge+light attack spam, same combo spam its just too much of the same things over and over again
4.Fast classes have a clear advantage over heavy/slower classes, i am not just talking about 1v1 i am also talking about dominion where even they are fast at capturing points, great 1v1, and also can escape even on 20% hp from a heavy classes? I mean weren't there supposed to be some kind of injury system that will prevent escaping like that? All i saw in the closed beta is bunch of fast classes being chased for 10 min by some heavy slower one

I can't see the point.
I've played the heavy Viking Raider to rep 2 and wasn't impressed by the lighter units.
Actually I found it annoying and often times humorous that they would run away after two swings of my axe...
So no, defensive-only won't work all the time against better players from my experience.
I think its ok that fast classes have the speed advantage, otherwise I would have made many people rage quit after I learned my combos.
What a lot of players didnt get was that ganking against a defensive player is not smart as he just has to block one atk and that will trigger autoblock, and therefor triggering the Revenge mode very quickly.
As a heavy player you have to make each blow count.
So yeah you can start with a guard break but you can also swing heavy then abort and swing a different direction light. Or you throw.
Also your build has to be taken into account. If you build heavy with lots of stamina and Regen you can be a bit crazy with blows. That drains the blockers stamina too.
Guard break btw costs lot of stamina so if you dodge that or react and swing light there goes their stamina.
So playing as a heavy I can't really tell what you are talking about.
Put some practice as a heavy in 1v1 before you go 4v4 and you should do fine with any class. Imho
A slow class can still get a fast attack in after a guardbreak counter. Btw. if tour opponent continuesly goes for a grab and all you is stand there countering back, youre doing it wrong. So point 2 is also a bad argument. Try some distance, moving out/in when they grab.
As for point 4, ofcourse theyre faster than you if you play a heavy... they are a fast class... jesus christ!
This game will have a wide skill gap like Siege. Anyone can pick up and play but it will be the great players who can utilize all the precise mechanics and decision making with multiple warriors who will stand out.
If R6S success in casual and pro play are any indication then this game has a bright and long future imo.
I'm sorry but if your a heavy or slower class why are you even trying to run down the faster lighter classes? Especially in the Dominion mode. I mean seriously I wouldnt want to chase people in all that ****. I sit and hold the B objective while on my heavy. I occasionally go off to another objective to help. But as a heavy in dominion I feel my home is B to hold the line. Not chasing the other classes who are faster than me.
#4 Is a learn to play issue.
Most of the time players are just running around like crazy trying to kill the other players anyway and dont bother with the objectives. I on the other hand want to win the match. So as a heavy I dont chase I play the 2 closest objectives for the win.
Heavies also have quick point capturing buffs aswell.
1- Yes, hopefully Parry will get a nerf before the game release. It's broken ATM.
2- People will spam as long as you allow them to do it.
3- People will spam as long as you allow them to do it.
4- Not sure about class balance.... Currently, the best player using parry will win, the class you pick isn't even something to take into account. Maybe Conqueror, Warden and Warlords are the best classes currentlyif the player knows how to do a good use of parry.
2 and 3.Bro if someone keeps trying to guard brake you, you either guard brake resist him, or you light attack him, dodging can be risky since if caught in middle of dodge he gets a free heavy attack. About 3 its always the same, orochi waits for your attacks than dodges and light attacks, warlords do head smash and light+ heavy, wardens 2 side light attacks+ shield bash etc, those are the combos mate, i mean sure you can mix it up but people tends to spam those things and play on the defensive when in high level play.Originally Posted by Arnaldo27 Go to original post
