Overall, I liked what i got out of the beta. But there are two things that are stopping me from pre ordering/buying the game, and I most likely will not buy it unless these two issues are tended to. Feel free to add on whatever you think needs to be fixed or included.
1. The driving. Mother of God, it is UNBEARABLE. I know, theres other threads and comments and what not mentioning it, Ive commented about it a few times myself. But, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. The vehicles have no weight to them, and it looks like you got into a head on collision with a bus on a highway when you lightly tap a brick wall. The acceleration is ridiculous and the transition from drive to reverse is almost instant which is just strange. The turning is either too responsive or not responsive at all, and when youre driving at high speeds (which is kind of a thing when youre getting shot at) you can forget about staying on the road, you would have better luck trying to drive on an ice rink. The flying is ridiculous, its like the game has more control than you do. The helicopters want to stay level, which destroys the purpose of having mounted weapons since I cant aim downward towards vehicles or enemies without the helicopter leaning backwards and leveling itself out again. It makes flying and driving such a pain, which is a shame considering they will both be a big part of the game given the size of the playable area (which i must say is impressive and seems to be thoroughly detailed from what ive seen). The handling and overall driving of the vehicles should be redone before release. I can imagine thats a lot of work, but this is a key feature of the game that has a ton of people complaining about it and it just seems half-assed and unacceptable for a game in the works for 4 years in this day and age.
2. Customization of the AI Ghosts to the extent you can customize your own character, including both outfits and loadout. This is essential. Nothing ruins the immersion more than trying to take a stealth approach trying to sneak through the forest or woods in a ghillie suit and having the guy to your left in a tank top and striped bandana, and the guy to your right in a flannel and cargos. I usually like my character wearing tactical stuff, like an IBA, multicam and a FAST helmet (say what you will) and i just feel so out of place with that, considering the rest of my team looks like they are going on a backpacking trip. And what if I go into the snowy mountains? The guy in the tank top will ruin the immersion and experience overall. On top of that, when I would play co op with friends, then the outfit (and even gender) of the character would change anyway, so why not be able to control what they wear/use while playing solo? I understand that the characters were made for the story and Im sure their role fits in somewhere, Im not asking to be able to change their face or gender or hair, just their outfit and loadout to make the immersion and experience bearable and more fun. Different scenarios and environments call for different weapons, gear and attire. That has always been big in tactical shooters and in Ghost Recon! especially in GR:FS! And it certainly pertains to the real world. I know some may not care for anyones looks but their own, and again people can change their looks in co op, but playing with others online doesnt guarantee that they will follow your every order and dress how you want them too, half the time you probably wont even be talking to them. Its such a practical thing that makes so much sense that it should really be a part of the game. It doesnt change the personality of the other characters, just the looks. I'm not asking for a ton of stuff on a DLC level that just I want for my personal greed to be included in the game, just a tool to make my team more immersive and to make the experience of the game more enjoyable.
So those two things are really the deal breakers for me right now. Again feel free to add what you think should be fixed or included (nothing insane on a DLC level, be realistic) before release. I dont think im asking for too much here, and I know, from what ive seen in these forums alone, a ton of people agree and have voiced that both these issues should be tended to. If enough people complain about it or mention it, Im sure Ubisoft will do something about it.
They'll more than likely add new things rather than fix current ones.
For everyone crying that the driving sucks, I guarantee you that will remain the same.
I actually think it's very easy to drive, a little bit too easy. But I honestly couldn't care less if the driving stays the same.
Same with the air vehicles, they're really easy to fly.
