Named item drop rate = stupid

Have killed LZ bosses over 30 times in a row....no named drops. Have completed all daily HVTs multiple times......no named drops. Have killed hutch over a 100 times...no named drops. Have killed Barret over 200 times....no named drops (except a showstopper). Have opened 100s of field proficiency caches....no named drops.

Do named drops even flipping exist in this game any more or did I miss the boat? Farming is only farming if there is a chance of getting what you are farming for.

It wouldn't even be such a kick in the nads if the Barrett chest wasn't a must have item in the DZ. Oh.....I see you got the chest piece and I don't.....great...looks like I am at a huge disadvantage. Wonderful.

In a 4 to 5 week time frame running LZ bosses/hard missions/daily and Lex I got

    3 x Tenebrae
    1x Caduseus
    1 x Shortbows knee pads
    2x Ninja packs
    3 x Skull gloves
    1 x Showstopper

and a 6 piece reclaimer set.

To you OP it's RNG baby RNG nothing more nothing less.

Named items are supposed to be rare. While it sounds like you have had a string of bad luck, low drop rates are key to keeping a sense of accomplishment when one does drop.

My advice, take a break from grinding for them. Do some missions or something else and get a few Field Proficiency caches.

Don't let the hunt for an exotic ruin the game for you.

Rare is one thing....nonexistent is another.

Field Proficiency caches are meaningless to me. 99.9% of the items are sold from them. I only care about named items which seem to not exist. Think maybe they are bugged under my server or something.

Bottom line is the chance to obtain the item should increase the more times that the content is run. For example....Lexington should increase 1% chance after each 100 runs. You do realize that people are running it 300 and 400 times without the drop right? This does in fact ruin the game for people and it can easily be fixed with a simple algorithm. Instead....people who put in the time and effort are punished with an unwinnable lottery.

    Suggestion:

    1) Make named items drop in the DZ or DZ caches, to get back on track with your initial promise of the DZ holding the best loot in the game.

You had a really good point going there and then totally blew it out of the water with your first suggestion...Leave it alone if this the best one can come up...gating gear only int he DZ is something we need to 100% stay away from (and to your initial point of you post ALTERNATIVE pathways, not one sole pathway). You want PVP relevant only exotics in there so be it, but do not ask for more to be taken away from the last remnants of acquisitional fun we have left to us outside of the DZ in PVE...with the current exotics being bound to legendary missions and weekly cache rewards on pTS, that is a far better system then what we currently have....least we know we can work for them in ALTERNATIVE ways..

Another PVE hero terrified of interaction with other players who are better at the game than them. Lol. Hilarious. I can literally go into the DZ right now and extract all that I want EASILY without having to deal with people at all. Its called situational awareness.

My issue isn't that they're rare, it's that they drop in specific activities (in some cases, the more obvious one being the Barret's chest).

A rare named item should be something that just "happens" to you while playing, leaving you both amazed and happy. Not something you achieve by doing the same thing over and over and over and over and...

I mainly play PVP in TD, but I mostly don't even bother killing bosses or opening chests anymore, as there is never anything of value at the end of the day. About a week ago I resorted to blindly selling every item from my DZ stash, as I haven't seen any upgrade in weeks, and the items are not even worth the 2 minutes of inspection at this point.

    Suggestion:

    1) Make named items also drop in the DZ or DZ caches, to get back on track with your initial promise of the DZ holding the best loot in the game.

    2) Offer gear upgrade options, like Ramaladni's gift or Kanai's cube in D3, allowing you to add a socket to a weapon, or upgrade gear pieces with additional mainstat.

    3) Consider a bad luck protection system like in wow, increasing drop chances after a certain amount of runs. Well, maybe not like in wow, as it should actually work.

    4) Stop weighted drops, or at least be transparent about it. This one is really bringing out the worst in me, as it's pretty clear by now, that the Barret's vest is weighted towards rolling Electronics, and that is simply not ok. You know exactly, that currently Electronics is the least desired stat roll in the game, and your only intention here is to make people grind more. So your recommendation of "take a break from grinding them" is a little bit cynical, as long as this bs is in place.

And just on a side note, the drop chances are indeed terrible, you simply went too far here. I don't mind the grind, I played a top 10 D3 HC ladder char about 2 years ago, but the RNG in TD is one of the most unrewarding loot systems I've ever experienced, especially for almost maxed out players.

I agree that named items should drop in the DV....however....the ones that already do...dont. I have played countless hours since 1.5 and have yet to see a hungry hog in the DZ. Literally a 1000 items or more extracted. No hungry hog. They simply do not exist. They are unicorns. 1.3 I bet I sold over a 100 of them. They say that hungry hogs drop in the DZ......no they dont.

Whats frustrating is farming for those items for days or weeks only to see it drop whith such crappy rolls that you just want to cry. I sold my first bullet proff vest, my second one is decent.

This exotic items should have some minimuns base stats to ensure they are decent at least.
