Will the game application and information I downloaded to play the closed beta need to be deleted and the new information for the open beta downloaded and installed?
I mean no offense to anyone but would really like a confirmation from a ubisoft associate, not some random person who thinks they know how it is going to work. If I had to guess I would say the 10gigs in the 2 updates since the closed beta ended are updates for the open beta and it will not be necessary to remove and redownload. BUT maybe i'm wrong, hence the request from a ubisoft representative.
Thanx
I will be the random person then
From my own experience, the game should automatically be removed from your account after the alpha/beta ends. If it hasn't been removed, there is no reason for you to delete or uninstall it because if that action will become necessary, Uplay will do it for you, if not, it will simply download some additional updates that will be included in the open beta.
I personally didn't uninstall the game and the For Honor's files are still on my HDD, as I assume I would have to download the exact same files again, plus additional ones in form of an update.
Better wait and pray that Ubi will show up to clear up the situation, which (at least in my view) doesn't need to be clarified since the open beta will appear in our libraries either way, one might as well keep those files and update them with open beta.
But then again I'm just a random, that thinks this is how it's going to work
edit: and just as I posted, Ubi appeared!
It will need to be a fresh installation.Originally Posted by Nyreli Go to original post
I have the uplay launcher but I had to reinstall windows and the closed beta for for honor isn't there anymore. Will there be another predownload before it comes out???Originally Posted by UbiJurassic Go to original post
Yes, the Open Beta client should be available for pre-download starting tomorrow morning (Monday Feb. 6th).Originally Posted by LCIlluminaughty Go to original post
I'm unsure if LCIlluminaughty wasn't talking about the actual, full game's release. Because as UbiJurassic said, the full game released on 14th February will require a fresh installation, at least that's my understanding.Originally Posted by the_1st_Ronin Go to original post
But if it's the other way around then yes, just as Ronin said, there will be a pre-download available today but it's most likely that majority of game files (if not all of them) will have to be downloaded again on 14th February to replace betas with complete game.
