    (IDEA) Weapon dropping

Shouldn't your weapon be able to be knocked from your hands? This would add another layer of realism and depth to combat.

    What do you guys think?

I would think there's too much potential for abuse.

Ofc it would make the Game more real, but it would severely hurt Gameplay. Since this is a Game and not real life, I'd leave it as it is and call it optimised for Gameplay.

It may bring some reality but the game is not trying to be a real sim. Even it doesnt sound bad, just imagine how OP that would be even if the special attack would cost entire stamina. You are attacking, blocking and parrying by your weapon so you would be left only with dodges, guardbreaks and pushing over the cliff. If someone would make you drop your weapon and zone you from the weapon, you have no chance to fight against. And if you made it like "Hurts your opponent so he will drop his weapon for x seconds" .. after those seconds he would miraculously get the weapon back (maybe some kind of pocked 3d printer in medieval age ) and this would make the game much less real than it looks now

And since so much of the game is oriented towards your weapon, even attacks like "Quickly stab an enemy hand making it weaker" could be too strong and unreal because again - one single attack making your opponent weaker is too OP and making similar effects for some time only it is kind of magic or miracles because once your hand is stabbed, it stays so until it will heal over days or months depending on seriousness of the stab.

Anyway actual bleed effect in game is also something what will end itself so...really not a real simulation so there are some possibilities, but imho dropping weapon is too overpowered. Just imagine someone will attack you, you will drop your weapon, then he will zone you out of the weapon to a place where you are surrounded by a wall from every direction except one where stand the opponent. Even if this special attack would drain all the stamina, he can still attack, but you cannot block, you cannot parry, you cannot attack back, you cannot even dodge so you can only do guard break. But guard breaks doesnt work against your opponents attack so you would just stay and watch how he is slicing you

I agree with you but I also agree with him. Think of it this way, you target another player, you both get in to a 1v1 scenario, the other player knocks your weapon out of your hand and/or stabs your hand so you are not able to use it. That's the concept right? Couldn't the player that lost the weapon just run away and not corner themselves and possibly have them add extra loose weapons that are either one or two handed that can be picked up in case the attacking player does zone you weapon? Would something like that work out instead?

I for one he to support the guy above you as well.
    1. All his mentioned points
    2. The devs would have to make dozens of new animations
    3. And all the trouble implementing such "unblanced" mechanic is simply not worth it

Yep man, I was also thinking about concept of having some weapons in the world possible to pick if you drop your. But anyway even if those weapons were here, then if you are zoned, some free attacks while you are running around for the weapon are a huge advantage (I saw a video where just a stamina recovery window is enough to kill an enemy with no chance to defend if zoned really amazing feeling during watching the video how defenseless he was and he was great player...). So..that would still be overpowered.

Anyway, by that zoning you out of weapon I meant a situation where there is not enough space to run around your opponent, so you would not be able to run for any additional weapon placed on the world. Running through a player would be as unreal as it would have no sense to make it more real by weapon dropping.

Still I like the idea, just not for this game. Or at least for dueling mods...maybe in dominion it would not be as overpowered.

Also..as YellowMirror said - those additional animations when it is few days to go live...
