Can't Launch GR:W on PC | Forums

I get a launch error every time I try and play the game. from the Ubisoft Launcher I get the "Installing VC Redist 2010 x64 (1/1)... then it has a Launch Error.

It says: Cannot create service (StartService failed: 2)

EasyAntiCheat says: Error Code: 20006 (Cannot create service (StartService failed: 2))

If anyone has any ideas, I'd much appreciate it.

Just updated GR:W today and now the game won't launch. Had a similar problem with Siege, very frustrating to spend money on a product I cannot use.
Any ideas...anyone?

Got it for free with my 1080ti, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I've made my character. The last thing I see is the warning that online mode is disabled until after the intro then it crashed to desktop.

I've turned of overlays. But am running on my D drive. Not enough room on my SSD to install on C: I've read that might be the problem...

Got the same problem...
unable to play after installing the bloody patch with tiers and other ides....
on the easy cheat website I only find this:

Failed to start the game (CreateService / StartService / WriteFile)


This error message appears when the game launcher is unable to start the EasyAntiCheat service that is required to launch the game. The error message contains the System Error Code of Windows inside brackets."

HERE IS MY FIX. i have COMODO antivirus, so i just unblock easyanticheat (it was blocked automatically) and now its working.

Havent played in a while, mostly due to small bugs... Wanted to play again, since it appeared game was recently patched to Patch7

After update, would the game start ? Nooooo - due to issue with service for EasyAntiCheat... - Can see other people have issue with various AV programs and solved by putting easyanticheat into exception list...

Tried that with my MS AV. no luck
uninstalled and Reinstalled EasyAntiCheat multiple times, incl. reboots
Looked in services settings for EasyAntiCheat - Noticed that the .exe of it, was pointing to C:\Windows\System32\EasyAntiCheat.exe - Except - the program wasnt located there ! - On my machine it's located in C:\Windows\SysWow64\easyanticheat.exe...

Changed reg key for service to point to correct path - still no luck
Copied exe from Syswow64 to system32 - Still no luck
Consistency check of game files - still no luck

So - basically i have no game available to me on this Windows10 64bit box... Thank god, my steam games are working...

ANd why the F*** do i need an anticheat sub program when all i wanted was for some singleplayer gaming
(getting more and more TOTALLY turned off playing on PC)

All looks great, and are games i want - BUT - NO WAY IN HELL, i'm pre-ordering another game from you, until i see what kind of cheat-program is in use, and if other people are having issues....

Hello,

It could be a case where Easy Anti Cheat is being blocked by an antivirus. If any of you are still having this issue after unblocking EAC, can you please create a support case via here.

If you're still having this issue I fixed it by copying EasyAntiCheat.exe from sysWOW64 to system32

Wow. I have been having this problem on ALL easyanticheat games and finally someone finds a solution.

Copy the easyanticheat exe file from SysWOW64 to System32!!!
