My Long Winded Impressions....Mostly as a single player gamer.

Caveats:
-only open world games I have played are GTA games, Arkham series, Division, and *** Creed IV.... I say this to clarify that I dont suffer from open map fatigue from playing FarCry, Just Cause, MGSV, Sleeping Dogs (or the Watching version either)

-Doesnt lick the boots of original ghost recon.. but thats fine because when I speak of Ghost Recon I mean the lineage of games iterating from ghost recon 2 onward...

Comparing with ghost recon 2 and beyond it still doesnt feel as enough of an evolution as one would hope (beyond the scale of map and open ended execution of missions)

-As a sp gamer it is a letdown as a squad based shooter...the squad commands dont even measure up to ghost recon 2 or summit strike
-controls feel floaty
-some of the bugs with gathering intel and interrogations are hopefully just products of the beta (dialog and intel gathering not working correctly, weapons clipping through vehicles)
-the squad controls/ai cant be called disappointing given what they would/wouldnt do in future soldier....
-Ai teammates serve more as a function to justify the synch shot ability above everything else.. even less personality than Future Soldier.
-Weather effects and nighttime is great, no complaints there.
-my idiot *** keeps pressing "A" to cross thinking roadie run... keep doing it accidentally in front of enemies too
-navigation of environment and animations are a step back from future soldier
-i do enjoy the ability to rotate 360 while prone
-the game is full of immersion breaking quirks (teammates teleporting on vehicles)
-I have encountered a few random events (SB troops trying to execute someone in a field)
-complaints about the map being "empty" are odd, a place like that is going to have isolated towns... the chunk of map in the beta is designed well enough that i want to see the other environments.
-One of my biggest concerns for the longevity of the game is the lack of mission variety:
GTA IVs biggest problem was that it went from one handler character to another and they continually ordered you to drive somewhere and kill everyone..just got redundant.. (this might be Wildlands)
GTA V fixed this somewhat by giving missions context whereby the tasks eventually built up to a big heist...in addition the missions though open ended also expertly mixed semi scripted parts too...I dont see that being a part of this game.
-Im curious to see how leveling up works on the final product, given that its a demo im sure access to more powerful abilities might be locked for later in the game..
-love that u can shoot out light sources
-door breaching and the teammate mantling ability from Future Soldier is missed
-hopefully the full release allows you to also choose the uniforms for your teammates (though rumors say no)
-the draw distance is great, whats crazier is that those far off mountains will actually be there to be explored
-shoulder switching is still in the game (tap rb)
-I just hope that the guy we "avenge" in the demo doesnt magically wind up being still alive and double crossing the Ghosts..

Favorite moment so far:

im doing recon to sneak into a Unidad FOB because i have to interrogate a captain there. I go near the gate and start recon with the drone when lo and behold! Not only have the Ai snuck into the Fob but theres 1 ghost a few yards from the target while the other 2 stand guard of the building waiting for me to play my way there..

Ultimately given all the caveats above, i will definitely buy this game (provided no super bugs upon release)....its not sim tactical but it gives me enough tools to play my way..
