Aight, I'm digging this game. I'm not the one who'll beat it in the beta time allowed, because ... I don't beat games. But these are my observations. Note: I've marked crap observations with a start of -, good ones with +, and general notes with *.

I'll start off with: I'm really enjoying the game. Reminds me of the Mercenaries games (played on Xbox and 360), but I'm not a console girl.

- I have picked up a few bits (checkerd flags, sound clips via cd?)while traversing the area. I can see them in my map (M), but after I close them, I cannot figure how to re-open them, even from the map.
- Helicopters dive when pushing forward (W), even when "raising up" (shift). My husband says I suck at video games, but seriously, this defies physics unless pressing forward (W) would allow you to dip below a 90° angle (tangent to earth). Hubby says it's the same for various other games (he quoted Mercenaries and another I'm unfamiliar with), and I've never drove my helicopter into the ground on a downward slope while using the "lift" button. Basically, you have to tread the "lift" button separate from the "forward pitch" button, and will often have to accommodate to ensure level flight. (This becomes really irritating when you have to go over mountains. I mean, I figured it out -- it's not difficult but still bloody annoying.)
* I'm going to put a huge hit on this one. I've tried to be accommodating to helicopters but... nope. I'm just more and more confused as to how the controls really represent a real-life representation. No, I've never flown a helicopter. But if they act as derpy as this game makes them out to be, I have serious issues with the helicopter engineers who have been making them.
- Vehicles seem a little tweaky to drive. I don't know if this is because I use keyboard and mouse and not a controller or not.
- Rebinding keys. I will just assume this is a beta issue; I seem to be the only human on earth who prefers to leave my fingers as you ought to type (aka, index on f), which also gives you a whole new column on the left for options. I'm greatly vexed by displacing my fingers, then hitting things where I am used to them being but NOPE!
+ LOVE that I could tailor my chick in pretty awesome ways. (Hubby commented how girly mine looked. Probably a ton of guys out there loving that too haha)
-/+ I got cut off on inspecting gear while I made my merc... fortunately, you can just do it from the loadout screen. So prolly should look into it crapping out, but thankfully I wasn't stuck with it. Thing is, I was checking out different options including sunglasses, and it crapped out.I could no longer tailor anything regarding my merc. But as I said, I could fix it later. My hubby stated he had the same initial issues with creating a merc.
+ I love the open map, have had a few issues with keybinds (which I assume will be available to reassign in the full game), but am mostly adapting.

Summary: I'm enjoying the gameplay in general. I'm having serious personal issues without custom keybinds (I know I'm weird, but I still hit the wrong button for pretty much every interaction unless I stop and think about it because I'm forced off of my normal layout), but I know that should be dispelled in the future. I really don't like most vehicle interactions, perhaps due to using keyboard/mouse (for land vehicles) or because I really don't understand how helicopters work here (I'm just going to say helicopters in this game suck grandma balls). But overall, I've enjoyed my experience. And I'm considering buying it, if I can justify the time and money for it. (I currently am a student, and am "living off of" my husband's income. I don't want to put more on that bill than I need to.)

Edit: Sorry, I totally forgot but was playing and realised... OMFG please change it: I have to wait a second while pushing E to enter a vehicle, but then I accidentally hit E while driving said vehicle and I pop out like a commando. Which is cool, but THERE GOES MY VEHICLE.
(This may be due to me also not typically being used to e as the game intends [I use esdf instead of wasd], so I kind of hit it awkwardly more than most folks probably would)
