I was given beta access on PC via nVidia and beta access on PS4 via Ubisoft. Most of you may have already read through and or listed some of your own thoughts on what the two platforms have to offer or what they're lacking so I won't get into listing things. But for those like me who have a decision to make and want to make a quick informed decision I will say this.
For a game that has been in development for 4 years, the PC version seems like a Alpha stage Port from console AT BEST. It is so far from optimized, saying that it's been in development for 4 years is laughable. PC version seems like it was an after thought which is VERY disappointing... It needs SO MUCH done to it to make it an enjoyable experience I put it down after less than an hour of play. I spent more time messing around with character customization than I did trying to play the game. It was that bad. And it's not because of my hardware which I'll list at bottom.
On the other hand the PS4 version, while I can't say it's close to what the final product should be, is playing and running smoothly, and has offered myself and friends a good few hours of fun just driving around tearing things up. Now like I said I can't say this is close to what the finished product should be which is also disappointing with how close we are to launch day.
But if you find yourself in the situation like I find myself where you're a PC gamer who also has friends they play with on console, then save your money and go console. I foresee nothing but problems with PC launch in the amount of optimization and patches it's going to need if it's even playable. Lest we forget Ubisoft has had a history at times of games being unplayable for many on PC at launch until patching. The safe route I'm sad to say, at this point and time is console.
