II finished the beta portion of the game with 6 major missions, skilled up to 9 with 5 pts left over, and got various files, weapon upgrades and accessories.
So the upside was that I got decently competent with a chopper, not so much with the light aircraft (further on that below) and really didnt care about driving Bolivian roads ( I live in an area that has similar terrain but not so much rain).
I found that if you want to fly choppers in GRW with PC (KB & Mouse), don't enable the mouse for anything but viewing and use WSAD with Shift and Ctrl.
I got so that I could land (usually a good thump involved) in a variety of places and roll out the team quickly.
Never tried to HALO or just jump from the AC tho.
The panoramic views are truly awesome when it is sunny and can see across the map.
Did manage to run over a couple of civilians ( and got some intense **** from one of my team).
Must have died 3-4 times and revived as many too.
The Unidad forces seem to love to put up 3 choppers at a time and when they are Apaches, its time to duck and cover as all I had to deal with them was a LMG.
Sniping was fun as you had to take into consideration the bullet drop over distance.
and so what did I NOT LIKE?
AI made some strange choices like a rebel deciding to walk in front of my plane as I was trying to land on that strip.
My team constantly getting stuck behind doors and different objects.
I was waiting for my team to load up in a vehicle until I discovered that if I just drove off, they would teleport in anyways. Handy for chopper take offs when I was in a hurry.
One time I stealthed around this base and then told my team to regroup. They actually ran through the middle of camp and nobody noticed even though there was 1/2 dozen EI standing there. I had just replayed GRFS and GRWS2 and this wasn't an issue.
But over all I enjoyed what SP gaming that GRW offered and feel that if there is a patch for some of the issues that beta players report, the gaming experience will keep people coming back.
