due to the 'lore' of the game, gender lock on some more specific heroes makes complete sense to me.

do you guys even Valkerie?

Maybe the so-called inapplicable classes such as the Valkyrie may not get an extra gender thingy.

I feel as though this would be unfair though, to only allow 3 classes from each faction a right to an extra gender, one of which would be the Valkyrie in your case. Then another thread might pop up for someone who just wants a 'Male Valkyrie' or what not.

That would be unnecessary and we could solve everything here and now if Ubisoft just patch this into the game.

Another idea to implement this, add a Free DLC option with the missing gender additions.

Therefore, people who don't want it, don't need to get the free DLC, but doesn't mean they won't see players with the newly enabled gender Free DLC. Just like how Season Pass players get access to heroes earlier, but other players don't have the option until a week later, however they still can play with people who have the Season Pass.

This will be a cool idea for what I like to call 'Cross-Content' gameplay, which is already in alot of games, with the form of DLC, including For Honor.

Not all of it is free though.

I like that some characters are gender locked. I think it gives them more personality. I also think the devs should spend their budget on something else than making new models, animations and sounds this would generate.

Give us more executions instead. At least that generate them some revenue.

I agree, with you, but this could happen in the near future, I'm not asking for it to happen right now. Yes, they can focus on other things, but I'm saying in the future, maybe they could add some Free DLC that you could download that will give you access to Gender Unlocked Classes, and people who don't want it, don't have to get it. It doesn't come with the Season Pass, cause it's free, free to take, free to leave. Therefore you will still face people who want those options, but you don't need to have them if you don't want them.

Time, people and the money have probably already been allocated to creating new executions/emotes/effects etc. because that's what we get every few weeks. There's probably no plans to assign people to begin work on new character models for the gender specific characters, so they'd need to move people from other projects to do that. At least that's how I imagine the planning has gone for those things.

That statement is true, but... that's exactly what I'm talking about.

Make it free DLC, optional, people who want it, get it, people who don't... well...., don't. Then again like the Season Pass, people who don't have the pass can still fight against people who do, although this Free DLC should be optional, and obtainable from the Console's shop. For example, if you were on PS4, you would get it off of the PlayStation Store, and just like the Free Themes and Avatars, for those who aren't aware, they are available to acquire but not on start up, nor are they mandatory/compulsary to obtain.

Well im a guy and i like to play as female characters (since body ratio seems more real than the male versions, warden for example - except male gender lock characters). Its clear that im against what you said. Why change it now? Just because youre fav char is genderloc to the wrong gender? What if it were a girl with the same problem, whos fav was centurion or shugoki? (Needless to say id rather prefer it not to see a female shugo...)

Although I do agree with you about the body ratio, I still prefer playing as my gender, and that's me. If you enjoy playing as female characters and you're a male, go ahead! It's cool to be honest to see people with different tastes and interests, but in the end we all come together when matchmade in a match of Dominion in For Honor, for example.

Not just 'now', look at the date this thread started. This has been requested since before the game launched.

Firstly, the character doesn't have 'the wrong gender', that sounds unintentionally sexist, and besides, the For Honor team already are against that, by stating 'the female word for warrior, is warrior', plus, that is not at all what I am implying. I am stating that as they planned before releasing the game, all characters could be male or female. They were probably rushed for time and releasing the game and that is why they had to make a hasty decision concerning the customization factor of the game. They did in fact complete their original plans for the Warden, Conqueror, Kensei, Orochi, Raider and Beserker, but as you can see, suddenly the progress on that was stopped, for Peacekeeper, Lawbringer, Nobushi, Shugoki, Valkyrie and Warlord.

I was going to type my response to this question again, but I have already addressed this issue earlier in the thread. You can look back through the thread if you want, or don't...

So, in conclusion, Gemoroda, this isn't something urgent that needs to be added otherwise the game is broken. No way am I saying that. But would it really hurt you, or anyone else, if it was added? If you don't like it, DON'T USE IT. It's as simple as that. I even have the idea of a 'Free DLC', which adds the extra option for those people that really don't want it and don't even want the extra option of having another gender option for their favourite gender locked hero, to just simply not get the Free DLC, and the people who do want it, well, they can just get it. As I stated before, with PlayStation. There are themes and avatars you don't start off with when you join PlayStation, but you can get them for free on the PlayStation Store. Then again, it's up to you whether you want them or not, so you can pick and choose.

I respect your opinion Gemoroda, like I stated at the start of this post, and it's cool to see other opinions being shared around. I know you're against the idea, and that's fine. However, I leave you with this.

Imagine if you hated the idea of the Season 4 heroes for example, the Shaman and Aramusha, would you stop playing For Honor, just because of that? Or would you just keep playing anyway, and let others who love the heroes play them, while... 'you do you'?
