Gender in a game with heavy armour etc? Not so much.
Gender is a part of customisation you derp. (You did the rolleye emoticon, also known as a derp, just in case you were wondering )

Not sure if someone's already mentioned this, but Executioner Smough is male. Smough's Hammer description: "...Smough loved his work, and ground the bones of his victims into his own feed, ruining his hopes of being ranked with the Four Knights."

Never occurred to me. I saw the armor and just thought female.I have never worn the armor and I do not use hammers/maces.

Still an example of using armor to exaggerate and stylize a form.

100% against gender locking I rather not see a big old X next to all the cosmetic options, seems like cut content. While it may be too late for the current gender locked characters to change there is hope for the DLC ones.

Anyway, I would love to see what the missing gender options would look like. On a personal note, I am kind of bummed we didn't get a female Lawbringer. I probably would have played that one a lot in addition to the Warden.

Also, I am not sure really how different the animations are between the male and female class variations. Don't they share identical attack animations? It seems like the main animation differences come from their standing, walking and running animations. But I am pretty sure they share attack animations with each other. I don't know, I could be wrong, but that is the feeling I got.

I think a lot of the work would be creating the armor models for the alternate gender variants. But I would definitely shell out the cash for a future DLC that offered the missing options. Whether that ever becomes a reality, who knows?
Really? Do... do you NOT get the POINT of the Lawbringer? The entire purpose of the Lawbringers existence is to play the role of a massive warrior clad in full plate armor and a giant pole arm. NO female human being could EVER grow as large as what the Lawbringer model demands for it's purpose. Alright? Apollyon NICKED HER current armor set from the corpse of a Lawbringer whom she murdered. And you know what she had to do? She had to have it refitted to suit her body size.

Both gender for all classes please

I know you guys must be tired of seeing these posts, but I have pre-ordered the game and would like to know.
I understand that it takes time and resources to rework these classes. I am just asking if it will be an option in the future.

I am a guy and I prefer to play guy characters in games. I imagine a female gamer may feel the same way. Some would say "Just play a class that is a guy." Well, the class I enjoy most and play exclusively is locked as a female.

I could understand the reason more if characters from the single player were an option to select. They would obviously be male or female because they are developed characters. The multiplayer warriors are not developed characters. They are Archetypes that you turn into your own character through customization.

I believe time and resources is the culprit here. Ubisoft would have to reskin, record audio for,and test another six warriors. So its much easier to say "Well you see, every faction will have one exclusive male and one exclusive female character." This is perfectly understandable. My only grip is it seems they are presenting it as something special for the players. I see it more as "Other things were more important".

So as a gamer excited for this title I ask. Will other gender options for the existing warriors be available down the road?
I would really like to see both male/female options in all classes in the future/upon release. I really don't see why is it a problem when it's an OPTION for players and Ubisoft surely has the resources/ability to do so.

And I don't see why can't there be a female lawbringer/male nobushi if you go beyond gender biases regarding body size/shape or societal role.

It would be better if all characters could have the option of a gender switch. Locking a character to one gender is as you're experiencing it now; frustrating. To please everyone, both* genders should be represented.

    * there are more than two btw

Honestly can't tell if you are being serious or not, lol.

Assuming you are being serious, a female version of a Lawbringer would not just be a carbon copy of a male Lawbringer. A female Warden is not wearing a male Warden's armor, is she? No, her armor is made to fit her. The same would be true for a female Lawbringer. These Knights are part of an elite order. They would have their full plate custom made to fit them perfectly. It wouldn't just be a one-size fits all sort of deal for these men and women.

Besides, as I said earlier, if you were to put a Valkyrie in full plate mail she would look pretty beastly in her own right.

I am not really seeing the reason why some of you are so blown away by the thought of a female Lawbringer. If you tell me that they don't want to spend the dev time/money on creating it, I am cool with that reasoning. But I am not really seeing how these other reasons (realism, historical fact) apply to a game like For Honor. The Creative Director has already debunked both of those reasons and I don't feel like bringing up the quote for the 15th time.

No. No, they really don't. Name a female Sumo fighter, and I'll concede, but I'm going to have to play the realism card here and say that such a thing is not physically possible.
