    Genderlock Petition

How many signatures would it take to release the gender lock on classes?

I know you guys must be tired of seeing these posts, but I have pre-ordered the game and would like to know.
I understand that it takes time and resources to rework these classes. I am just asking if it will be an option in the future.

I am a guy and I prefer to play guy characters in games. I imagine a female gamer may feel the same way. Some would say "Just play a class that is a guy." Well, the class I enjoy most and play exclusively is locked as a female.

I could understand the reason more if characters from the single player were an option to select. They would obviously be male or female because they are developed characters. The multiplayer warriors are not developed characters. They are Archetypes that you turn into your own character through customization.

I believe time and resources is the culprit here. Ubisoft would have to reskin, record audio for,and test another six warriors. So its much easier to say "Well you see, every faction will have one exclusive male and one exclusive female character." This is perfectly understandable. My only grip is it seems they are presenting it as something special for the players. I see it more as "Other things were more important".

So as a gamer excited for this title I ask. Will other gender options for the existing warriors be available down the road?

I really don't get it why this is such an issue to so many people ...

I would rather wish to get dedicated servers and more mssaive play modes!

Well, everybody is different. I personally think the game size is fine. I prefer 1v1 duels, Though I also feel 4v4 will provide a lot of depth and strategy. Bigger modes means bigger maps needed and more chances for lag and to get stuck with a bunch of bots. I am not saying it wouldn't be awesome. I just think my request(and the others that feel the same way) would be easier to accomplish.

I am beginning to wonder whether or not the DLC heroes are also going to be locked to one gender or another. That would suck.

Anyway, I would love to see what the missing gender options would look like. On a personal note, I am kind of bummed we didn't get a female Lawbringer. I probably would have played that one a lot in addition to the Warden.

Also, I am not sure really how different the animations are between the male and female class variations. Don't they share identical attack animations? It seems like the main animation differences come from their standing, walking and running animations. But I am pretty sure they share attack animations with each other. I don't know, I could be wrong, but that is the feeling I got.

I think a lot of the work would be creating the armor models for the alternate gender variants. But I would definitely shell out the cash for a future DLC that offered the missing options. Whether that ever becomes a reality, who knows?

I agree with you. Even if you do not play a certain class or gender it would add more variety in the other players you see.

Well he did say he would pay for a future update. So with time I imagine they could create the gear.

We are talking about a fantasy game. Im sure there could be a large woman.(Ala Smough from Dark Souls?) Or maybe even the armor could be large.

    Well, no.

I just feel with some artistry they could make a female Law-bringer.

I do not want people to start using spells or dragons etc.

Not sure how we went from having a large female in armor to a fire-breathing dragon, lol. Just look at the female Raider, she is pretty diesel looking in her own right. Just pop some heavy armor on her and you would have a female Lawbringer.

But anyway, just saying that I would love to see this stuff added in the future and I really hope the new DLC Fighters aren't locked to one gender or another.

I actually don't think that there is a big difference between the Raider and the Lawbringer. If you put some heavy plate on the Raider he would be just as big. If you were to put some heavy plate on say the Valkyrie, she would end up looking pretty beastly.

I just don't see what the big deal would be about having a female Lawbringer. It seems like it would be a nice option to have (in addition to the other missing class/gender combos). Whether it is worth the extra dev time I can't truly say. I would definitely pay for it. Cosmetic DLC is cool because it doesn't affect the game balance or split the playerbase in any way. Plus, Ubi can take advantage of gullible fools like me who will pay for stuff like that and use that money towards future development costs. Win/win for everybody.
