The controller scheme "Legacy" is unavailable, and I don't play shooters unless they have this controller setup from the N64 controller. For me, this is a matter of necessity. If you work in the morning and your work is across town several miles away, do you walk or do you drive to work? You drive to work of course, no one has time to waste on walking that distance and getting tired before work even starts. Legacy thumbsticks for me is driving to work, default thumbsticks is walking. Sure, I can do it, but it's far more efficient to drive to work than to waste time and energy walking.
Legacy thumbstick setup is merely the default thumbsticks: move with left stick, look with right, the only difference is Legacy swaps the X axis (horizontal) of the sticks. So pressing up and down on the left stick moves the character forward and back, and pushing the left stick left and right causes the character to look left and right. The right stick, pushing up and down makes the character look up and down, pushing left and right makes the character strafe left and right.
This is Legacy thumbsticks. It's been around since consoles have had first person shooters (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark on N64) and every triple A game title has it. For those of us who cut our teeth on console shooters when Nintendo 64 was the latest and greatest console experience, Legacy thumbsticks is a must have. I simply can't play the game the way it's intended without it, and frankly, I'm sick and tired of game developers making great looking games and ignoring simple stuff like this, which ruins literally the entire game and all the work put into it.
I can't stress how important this option is. This is a dealbreaker for me. Here's to hoping Legacy sticks makes it into the game before release, because it's not in the beta. Thanks for letting me check the beta to see if Legacy was included.
