    Farming steel

Ive seen alot of talk about little steel we get from battles, how expensive it is to use etc.

The purpose of this thread is to eventually list all the possible ways to earn steel, for future reference.

Durong beta i amassed roughly 7k steel excluding the 2k you get from training your first character, which i think is okay compared to the prices on whatever you can get from steel.

    I got steel from:
    - winning/losing battles, obviously a win = more dteel than a loss. The ammount fluctuated based on my personal performance.
    - doing the basic tutorial eith a character (2k steel)
    - doing dailies (100/300 steel i think)
    - dping advanced tutorial with a class (1.5k steel)

    Any other ideas?

Whenever you play, play with Champion status. This gives you a boost to gold earned.

You get more gold for PvP than PvE.

PvP matches tend to last shorter duration as it's more common for blowouts to occur vs players than it is vs NPC's (except that one viking map. The NPC's tend to get locked up just outside of Mid and farmed.)

Orders are the main source of Steel, and there are plenty, since you not only get 5 (which is already more than in a lot of other games (usually 3)), but you can choose additional ones, even after you completed the first 5.

Incorrect. Champion Status only gives a boost to loot and XP. It does NOT impact Steel earnings, which is unfortunate.

Well it also does give you more materials for breaking down gear, but yeah.

Unfortunately, breaking down gear gives Salvage, which is a useless and stupid mechanic. Come the end of the beta, I was sitting on 200+ Salvage PER FACTION because I never wanted to spare the Steel needed to upgrade gear...so it just sat there and collected dust. Dismantling gear should give Steel. Or, if they insist on keeping this stupid Salvage resource, how about a choice?

You can SALVAGE an item and thusly get Salvage from it
    or
You can SCRAP an item and get the raw Steel from it

Did it cost anything to choose champion status?

Buying champion status costs 2000 steel. The status lasts 3 daya
