What language do the knights speak? | Forums

I know the Samurai speak Japanese, the Vikings icelandic but what do the knights speak? It sounds like a mix of languages, and according to people who speak latin it's not (all) latin. Does anyone know what language they actually speak?

Perhaps French or German? I don't know in all honesty, I just believe those would be fitting based on the medieval ages in Europe.

Oddly enough, it sounds like they speak both, but in a very odd way. Usually i understand German and recconise French, but i can't actually understand what they're yeling.

Do you have any soundfiles as examples? When they speak german should be able to notice that as a native speaker.

During the closed beta, I didn´t pay attention to the voices and even if I would have, they could use other languages in my localisation.

When the warden charges the shoulder bash, he shouts miserum\miser - which means "miserable" in Latin - towards the opponent.
Also, the peacekeeper yells "Moriturus\u" which would roughly translate in "you're going to die".

That's not german.

The grunts around point B in dominion can be heard barking "Aggrede, nunc!" (Attack, now!).

It's not only latin according to a lot of people on Reddit. Knight's didnt even speak latin, only some did a bit because they were very linked to the church. They say they're speaking a mix of different languages. I don't speak latin myself though, i first thought they spoke that too but i want to be sure.

For Honor takes place in an alternate universe: it is not historically accurate.

I don't sadly, you might hear it in some gameplay videos. But i'm sure it will come after the game releases.
