You have to admit that no other hero raises so much emotions here as Nobushi (followed by peacekeaper and guard break mechanics). But this proves that there is something wrong with Nobushi. If Nobushi was OK, we would not hear about her so much. Also, there is a poll and tons of people think that Nobushi is too strong. Please keep that in mind.
I would like some people understand one thing. There will always be people saying that we are lame, missing skill etc. Maybe it is true, but please, be tolerant. This game is AAA title made for wide public. Target group are mostly casual players who will never be masters in this. We have our work, families, mortgages. We do not have time to sit 12 hours a day at our PCs and consoles and train really hard to enjoy the game . We want to relax with this game. Ubisoft need to find the balance and satisfy most players.
I was having so much fun with For Honor Beta. I have pre-ordered gold edition and I'm really looking forward to it. But I was really frustrated fighting Nobushi. Fighting Nobushi was always much, much harder. I never said that it was impossible, but harder. But this means that balance is not ok.
Same applies to guard break. I know that it is super easy for PC players or teenagers, but I really have problem countering it without predicting it on PS4. From pure reflex, it is impossible. I have seen many live streams and believe me that most casual players won't do it.
So please, respect each other and let's try to find a compromise. Most For Honor players will be casual players.
try to fight Nobushi up-close and see how good she really is , peacekeeper destroy nobushi , orochi same story , a good beserker same story , warlords same story , do u really wanna render nobushi useless just because u can't counter her ?
as for guardbreak i agree , it's a p2p connection , countering a guardbreak can be really difficult
Disagree with the title and with the general principal of if most ppl say so then it's because it's true.
If anything history has proved this to be wrong many times.
The dodge timing for assassins, stance stamina costs and recover when miss for defenders are a lot more problematic thinking of the end game and ways to depend and exploit these mechanics and very few ppl are talking about it when they should.
As I see it, most players are assassins thanks to a still low risk/high reward ratio atm, they don't like the nobushi for her long range interrupt attacks and poison abilities. Though but it's exactly what she is supposed to do, if an assassin can get in he can almost rely only on light attack chains since this char had the slowest stance chance recover in the test and had to predict the next attack to block it when fighting an assassin instead of actively being able to block defend.
If you consider this the nobushi needs a slight tweak in stance chance recovery so she can fairly block light chain attack spams instead of having to predict them and come out of recovery already in that stance before the hud marker even pops up
Saddly, here and on reddit I keep seeing these kinds of posts where ppl aren't being reasonable or trying to debate a good and fair overall balance. It's either Nerf because or sort of fanboy logic nothing is wrong balance is perfect have a X W/L so you just need to git gud.
There are some mechanics that do need tweaks and will definine high skill lvl plays in the long run that you could detect in the test. Some might reply to me, you have to counter pick, and I do and understand the need to do it in a normal Beat'em up which doesn't hide picks before match start btw and has a overwhelming high number of chars to use making balance impossible, in a game with 12 chars that obviously intends to make every match up balanced on can try and should try to have this discussion.
Cheers
It only means that you can't face her the same way you would face a conq or a warden.
You don't NEED to play 12h a day. You do however need to learn the different classes, their strength and weaknesses. Read a guide while riding the subway or having your lunch or whatever. It's not a balance issue just because you can't be arsed to learn how to approach the different heroes.
But I know how to face her. This is what I'm doing right now using this forums ;-) But now seriously... I understand that this is rock paper scissors, but Nobushi is rock, there is too much scissors and very little paper. That's it. There are chars which can beat Nobushi easily, but there is much less of them then for example chars which can beat Kensei easily. Nobushi does not have much enemies and it means, it is not balanced well. And fact that you can win duel by performing single attack (sprint + light attack) is also ridiculous.Originally Posted by klockrenlol Go to original post
It's not because there are a lot of unskilled player whining that u need to nerf something...
And yeah u can say, blabla bla we're casual players. But do you know how many games exists for those casual players ? and how many cool game exists for more skilled player ?
And casual players can get fun even if the game is a bit hard for them
Skilled player can't get fun is the game is too easy for them
For now, i havn't see any really good nobushi, so for me, i beat like 95% of them.
Countering guard break isn't reflex it's a muscle memoriy (like it will be automatic since u see the BIG RED BUTTON on the ennemy), u'll get it after some hours of playing and then u'll think "hey guys, it's too easy to counter it"
You got access to the game for like 3 days, don't expect to master everything while u've play smth like 5hours wtf
Compare guardbreak to walking everydays, first u were unable to walk, it took A LOT OF TIME to learn, and now ? well walking is just normal for most of us
It's not as much rock paper scissors as it is different approaches to different heroes.Originally Posted by awolcz Go to original post
Seriously? Winning a duel by preforming only sprint+light attack is like winning a Tekken match by spamming the same attack all way through, it only works on new players who have no idea how to play the game. Just the issue of doing the same attack all the time breaks it, as it becomes extremely predictable and easy to counter. Side step, get in range and punish her for rushing in without guard mode. Or parry. Or just block. Sprint in and attack only works against opponents who has no idea what they're doing, or you take them by surprise. And such an attack is not even a Nobushi exclusive move.
Oh, and regarding the guard break. It's most likely a p2p issue. Which is most likely why there's such split opinions regarding it, as it depends on your and your opponents connection and thus giving people different experiences regarding the difficulty.
I do not know exact amount but I can say that there is more games for casual players, because there is more casual players than skilled players. So casual players are those who pay the game actually. This is why the most AAA titles are not made for skilled players only. Developers would never make money in that case. They need to make games for many, not for specific minorities. Some indie titles are for specific group only.Originally Posted by Funeraee Go to original post
And please, do not tell me that when Nobushi gets balanced, you will stop enjoying the game. This is not about Nobushi. You will barely meet her, she is 1 of 12. I will also not stop enjoying game if it will not be tweaked in any way. I just said my opinion, that it seems not well balanced to me and that it currently splits community, so it must have some reason. Thats my opinion and feel free to disagree. No other hero except peacemaker does it.
Just this game isn't for the most skilled player, yes it does require some skills but it's not too much, everyone can play it if they want to get gut.
I just don't want the game goes the same way League of legends did (CASUALS AS ****)
So, yet, for me the gamedoesn't need to be toned down about skill.
I'm agree that a good nobushi can have some advantages due to her options and that she deals A LOT of damage.. So at very low skill, she will rape players. But she has very low stamina and high cost, sooo, imo, she isn't op, it is just weird to play against, u need to play a totaly different way against her^^.
