pc user too.
yellow ping in game.
85% of my duels showed my ping green vs opponent green.
15% green vs red
didnt check in 2v2 (anyway i played just 3-4 2v2)
didnt check in my 4v4
but
1v1 duels didnt lag ALMOST. the ones who lagged warped opponent to me basically. so i got some free hit from him due to no time to reflex.
4v4 let's put a number or 10 4v4 played during entire beta:
- 4times at least 4 players crashed/dc'd making me play 4p vs 4ai
- 3 times error disconnected me
- 3 times i entered in a started match substituting bots.
so, well, average players will enjoy spending 60€ for a RNG game.
it will die in 6 months, then they will make it f2p .
I play on pc, almost never see green, red red red red red red, always, sometime yelow,
my connection is always green and others players are always red/yellow
game search for most distante player for me, conection is fast but always red.. rarely green....
i from brazil and fight with player from israel, australia, etc .... very bad region filter...
Thank you for your information and post's.
It seems so far I do have a point right?? We have PC users showing minimum lag issues, no hard issues.
On the other hand Console customers are complaining about the issues all the time, AND it is not difficult to provide information that their Networks are experiencing constant problems of their own.
UbiSoft, you can provide any information from your end? Referring to PC connections VS the consoles? Or is not possible because of the P2P connections?
Thank you for your interesting thread.
My experiences on ps4 were overall positive. I hardwired my ps4, had a green ping 100% of the time and mostly encountered players with a good connection. I sometimes played against red ping players and seldomly teleporting occured. I hope they can optimize the netcode. Even though i think people are massivly overexaggerating the problem, it definitly exists
I played almost exclusivly 1v1s and 2v2 so that might have contributed to my good experiences. In 4v4, players leaving was quite common, but i cant be shure if they were kicked or if their microwave pizza alarm went off.
@Dez_troi_aR
Thank you for the PS4 console feedbackwe not had any yet, I do not know if there are separate servers for PS4, but if there are it would be interesting to see the status for the same dates and the PS3 information gathered. Also nice to notice you used a hard wired connection.
Appreciate your time and post Thanks!
If the problem was Xbox, then why was I able to connect immediately to other games when I got kicked out of For Honor games? For instance, I got kicked out of a Dominion game, and a friend invited me to play Gears of War 4. I accepted, and we played Gears for 2 or 3 hours with 0 connectivity problems. When he got off, I went back to For Honor and started having connection problems again. Nothing changed with how I set up my xbox when I swapped to Gears. I just wasn't on a P2P connection.
my network expirience in closed beta (PC, hard wired, always green light) were awful. Many many reconnects, network errors and sometimes rollbacks of some seconds and even if i was not affected by those problems i got games, where from one second to another 3 or more players dropped out of the game.
I also took an eye on who is host and whats up with him. If the host left, most of the time many players left with him and it always comes together with a reconnect break.
So in my case i cannot agree, that PC runs smoother or better. Those problems really sucked me off.
In the last year i bought some shooters and also played beta-tests. But problems like those i had in for honor never happened there in any case.
I played on pc (like 35 games on all modes each) and i only got disc problems like 4 or 5 times. No lag issues either. I'm not sure but i think it's more a console problem right now. And i agree the region filter was bad but it was a beta with a limited numbers of players (like 25000 at the most) so i think this problem will be fixed at the official launch when the player base will be much more consistent.
I almost exclusively game on whatever Playstation is out; obviously PS4 at the moment.
My For Honor Beta experience was actually really great but I never played the PvP as I enjoy going against bots with friends. I had 2 connection issues at the start of the second day's play time. I almost always play in the evening after my kids are in bed and generally for no more than 3 hours at a time. I also had 2 or 3 freezes that went away after a couple seconds.
My set up is as follows:
Wired connection
60MBps Download
4-5MBps Upload (best in my area sadly)
My wife was streaming Netflix on the secondary TV and streaming video podcasts to her phone via Wifi while I played without issue.
