I like 1v1 and 2v2 so much more than Dominion, there is no way I will play Dominion nearly as much, however, I also love finding gear and customizing my character. Revenge should not exist on 1v1 anyway, so why not allow the ability to use your gear? Also, you're trading out stats for new ones, so you're not exactly overpowered, since you're making sacrifices in order to have better stats in specific areas.
For someone who will not play Dominion, there just isn't alot of incentive for prolonged game play, so why not allow us to use gear in 1v1 and 2v2? Even if it's custom gear only for those modes, at least it gives us some end game content.
I wondered about this too, but at least there's Custom. Perhaps there will eventually be two playlists for each. Might segregate the player base a bit though.
I agree on the revenge not making sense for 1v1. But gear... NO. If you want ******** 1v1s make a custom game.
simply adding 2 ladders is not really an issue...Originally Posted by Otsukare Go to original post
one 1v1 ladder with gear and one 1v1 ladder without.
Gear really should count. It may seem unfair now, and maybe it is slightly, but at the higher levels that'll disappear and people's gear choice will add diversity. Right now, for example, every orochi is the same, I know exactly how much an attack will do and whether or not I can tank it and murder him. Gear would remove that certainty. It would also allow for entirely different tactics.
Gear would destroy 1v1's haveing zero gear means an even playing field allowing higher ranks to **** on lower ranks with more experience AND gear is just dumb.
So your argument against gear is that the matchmaker is god awful? k...Originally Posted by ReReminiscence Go to original post
I think it should be used. It lets you customize your playstyle in interesting ways. Soul Calibur let you use custom gear, why not this?
Is it going to change balance? Yeah, sure. Is it going to break the balance? Definitely not. Skill is still king. It's not like you can make your attacks faster, you just trade defense for damage, or the other way around.
