    After Closed-Beta Feedback

    Hello guys!

Due to the exams I had today and will have on the comming wednesday, I wasn't able to play the beta a lot. Unfortunately. I've spend about eight hours ingame and would like to give the devs some feedback based on my expieriences ingame on hand.

First of all: connection errors. This is a topic mentioned in the forums already but it is one that has to be fixed. The connection to the servers has to become a lot more stable to avoid players dropping out of matches out of nowhere, which could really interrupt the gameplay and also prevent "For Honor" to become as big as it could probably get (eSport not excluded) as everybody would just be frustrated due to watching on error messages more than actually playing the game. This also includes the error one got after finishing an AI duel and ending up never seeing any of the rewards.

Also I didn't like that you weren't able to leave the session whilst you were in the lobby and waiting for the game to start or in the VS-Screen waiting for everybody to load. It can happen that the lobby once breaks down or that some guy is just loading for half an hour, I then don't want to be forced to shut down the game completly and have to restart it. This is not only because I am a lazy **** but also as I suppose this game to be very similar to Six Siege regarding technology. And in Six Siege players without a SSD often have quite a long loading time which then becomes faster once the first game was loaded. But this progress regarding loading speed then gets destroyed when you have to restart the game. Really frustrating.

This brings me to another point I got to know from the Siege Squad system. I wasn't able to try it in "For Honor" myself but I don't want to see crashing down groups with your friends or, more important, have to restart UPlay because I need to answer a friend request.

To summarize on the technical side what's needed to be fixed are: Connection errors, crashing down lobbies/groups, leaving the lobby whilst (waiting for) loading into the game.

Looking at the game itself I just have one thing to mention, although I myself am not really sure if there should be interfered at all. It is related to the war of factions. In the beta you could see the vikings as completely overpowered and dominating the samurai and knights. I understand that many people like the vikings, as they are quite hyped at the moment due to the TV-series "Vikings" I believe, but it is really frustrating to not be able to counter anything imcomming from these guys in the war of factions. You can deploy as many war assets as you like for each one of yours three of the enemies come on hand. What I'd like to have with this war of factions is all three factions equally numbered and having tight fights over the areas. The question just is how to keep this war exciting without turning it too boring, as I am thinking that this idea is a truly great one. What do you guys think about that?

What I also liked besides the idea of a war of factions is the tiny detail that the minions only spawned in from the factions also fighting in the area. That's pretty cool.
Furthermore I am really liking the amount of opportunites that are offered to practise and tune your skills on the battlefield with AI. The AI itself is also very useful and skilled enough to provide some learning effect to you, what I personally really like. In some dominion session I had with AI allies or enemies I sometimes couldn't tell the difference between the players and the Bots. That is some really good work!
However I would like to have the option to choose the enemy hero I am fighting in the practise units and also have it set to several skill levels, so that I can get to know the possible opponents better.

Stepping forward to the game modes I really enjoyed them all except of brawl. It was a kind of useless mode for me as I played alone most of the time and it has been a kind of luck if you teammate died and you ended up getting raped by two opponents or not. Maybe this one is more fun if you and a buddy are playing together.
However I furthermore would like to see more gamemodes in the future. I really liked the idea of dominion but I would love to see something on a larger scale, for example an arena mode where you and 11 other heroes are standing in an arena and only one can survive (keyword: all vs all) or a 5vs5 with more minions involved and the two sides trying to push their armies inside the fortress of each other.
Seeing more gamemodes in the future would be really great even if you shouldn't loose your focus on dominion as the main mode.

Comming to an end I myself experienced the heroes as pretty balanced, it made a lot of fun playing the game, it made a lot of fun playing the game without a team (I hope the community won't turn toxic or something similar), I really liked the difficutly level of "For Honor", as it requires you to get some **** done before you can crush your enemies (this may keep of trollers, hopefully) and I loved that there where also orders for games against bots.

All in all, a very very very good concept, a really enjoyable game with some technical flaws that should be fixed asap to keep this game great.

Good feedback, I think an "Everybody vs Everybody, Free For All" mode would be extremely fun. Good idea.
