Out of the several hours I played in the beta I didn't lose a single 1v1 to a nobushi playing as kensei
Sorry bro. This is another git gud situation. A good berserker can wipe the foot with even the most seasoned assassin player. And for everyone who says that orochi is too fast with his flippy dips and fast attacks. if an orochi plays aggressive, play even more aggressive. You can interupt every single one of his movements forcing him to resort to an entire different play style on the fly.Originally Posted by Banicks Go to original post
If you are having a hard time dealing with a certain character, it's because you lack the ability to understand why he's beating you
Well said! You understand that as warlord you are a harasser, counter attacker and have great defense. However your attack range is small with that sword and your movement is slower as a heavy so it's more difficult for you to expose the weaknesses of the Nobushi because your class plays to her strengths. You're still able to win with smart play though and it's not impossible to beat her just more challenging for you.Originally Posted by Athwaldeacer Go to original post
Every forum I read is just people's perspective and some form of how everyone sucks and needs to get good. We'll coming from a player with a 4.5 kd and a 7.0 kd on brawls... AND considering how most of the games I've played are in dominion. I'd say 95% of you suck.
So now that the pissing contest is over. Let's go over facts. The nobushi. Is the only character in the game so far with an "added" bonus to her base attacks. No other character has this. Even the peace keeper hardly carries any poison. And it's well balanced. IF you removed the poison from the nobushi. She would be just as formidable. That's fact. So if she has her own special. So should other hero's. Not seeing it. So it seems to me. This character was made to help scrubs carry forward. Doesn't much matter to me either way.
Real problems in this game have nothing to do with the nobushi.
Assassin's still have too much stamina. And I believe require another nerf.
And revenge. Honestly should be removed from the game entirely. Now 95% of you would have no idea why. But for the few players playing tier 2 and above. You know exactly how broken this ability is.

Yes.
So in the case of the dodge attack she has. Any good nubushi will change it up. If she does a heavy attack it comes from the opposite side she dodged from. While he light bleed jab is same side. Which after both of these she can kick you drain your stam and land another poke for more bleed.
And she has that sweet stance which acts like a dodge in any direction and you will wiff even if hugging her.
I know. I have done it. I am not saying she is op at all frankly she can be put down just fine and I can generally predict and parry her attacks. But just wanted to shed some insight. On how she can be very unpredictable if played by a solid person. But people fall into patterns and are easy to read.
I had a 8.5 KDR as Kensei on duel mode and was tier 1 before Friday. I chose to try out other characters though instead of just focusing on one to see which class I liked best. So I fought people who most likely moved into tier 2 as well, so I'm one of those 5% you're speaking of.Originally Posted by x_KingSolomon_x Go to original post
Agree on stamina with assassins, the risk/reward factor for attacking is very low... Especially with the peacekeeper their ability to disengage on a moments notice makes them very near impossible to punish even if you do drain their stamina.
Revenge could use some slight adjustments but I don't think it should be entirely removed.
Although im curious as to why you think it should be and would love to hear you elaborate on the subject.
I don't think so but i can say for sure that if this game will die quickly it will be only cos the ppl never loved real skill based games.Originally Posted by Banicks Go to original post
When people learn to parry, they will no longer find the Nobushi OP. Like many things in a complex game such as this, it's a L2P thing. Nobushi seemed well balanced to me and I fought some pretty damn good ones. If I lost it was generally because I failed in my defense. Key words. I failed.
longest range in game
similar speed/dodging ability to assassins without the negative of having tighter timing on blocks
extremely good options to make up for the one weakness they have (close range)
comparatively good damage
and the most accessible/easiest bleed mechanic in the game
yeah this totally seems like a balanced character
as a side note its a ridiculous logical fallacy that just because something can be beaten/countered means it is not overpowered and in sore need of balancing. playing with and doing well with this character is simply easier and it performs better i.e it is overpowered this is reflected in the sometimes close to 50-60% pickrate many of us experienced through out the beta, imo this character should have reduced defensive capabilities when you are in close encouraging A) nobushi players to keep enemies outside the spear point at all times and B)encourage faster character to jump on the 2 handed spearsman and lock him/her down
