1 second more please for guard break

After the beta I noticed that there is one attack you simply cannot defend other than pure luck. Guard Break! I only defended guard break while I was doing an attack, or when I was using it too out of pure luck. There was no other situation when I got a guard break and pushed defend out of skill to defend it. Simply because the time window is way to small. One second more to defend against it, would be helpfull. If you are playing with the gamepad, it is quite hard too use the right stick to defend, and then out of the nowhere you have to let go of the stick and push the button. For me it's impossible, and as far as I've seen it, for the enemy also.

I do not think that second is needed, but it definitely needs to be extended. Also, early press should not be punished. Currently GB is almost unbreakable especially on consoles when in fight. All counter-GB are mostly luck or expectation (standing on cliff, having finger on square button and lure enemy to press GB).

Yeah, I found this to be an issue, too. 0,2 seconds or something would be ok, just a slightly bigger window.

Dunno, I met a few people who could consistently pull it off so it seems possible.

Please no. How are people having difficulty with this? Is this the controller mapping screwing everybody? Do people not realise there are situations in which you can't tech a guard break?

1 Second extra would make Guardbreaks get a <1% success rate haha. Guardbreaks are the mindgame system of this Game. It's also about figuring your opponent out. For example in 1v1s on a certain map you can see that he tries to guardbreak you every time when you are standing in a certain position. If you notice that, you can get ready the next time you are in that position. Also be aware of your environment, If you are standing next to a cliff it's pretty likely that your opponent will try to guarbreak you to throw you off the map. The entire Game is reaction based, and for that reason mindgames can really throw your opponent off.

I don't know how about PC, but I was unable to counter single random guard break on PS4, except of:
    - Random counter when trying GB myself.
    - Expecting GB long before opponent does it and I was having finger ready on square.

What everybody does is that he is spamming you with light attacks and then randomly does GB. It all happens in less then 500 ms. It is simple math:

500 ms - 250 ms (average human reftexes) - 100 ms ping (p2p), meaning you have 150 ms to release stick and press the square. Almost impossible on consoles.

Anyway, I do not mind when someone uses GB to open my defense and hit me. But I really mind that he can through me out of cliff, meaning instant dead. It is really punishing that having almost superman reflexes, you still have only 150 ms to press a button or you are dead. If not extending window to countrer GB, they should at least make throwing more difficult. It is too easy now and not fun.

EDIT: Also, please keep in mind that this game is made for all players and not the few percent of masters and skillers like you. And I'm seeing tons of posts about "No being able to giard break", "guard break too fast" etc. And if so many people are having difficulties, it means that something is wrong about it. That is true fact. Maybe it is not problem for you, but it is problem for many players, including me

1 second like a full second?

Any idea how long that is.

If you guard break some one and neither of you try to break it. That is a second. And it feels like eternity.

It being what it is is fine. I have found out that people are quite predictable when they are going to guard break.

Also if you are in a dodge or just starting to attack. You are not going to break out.

Trying to Guarbreak just from reflexes is indeed super difficult. On controller as with mouse. But it is much more of a Mindgame than anything else. Anticipating an enemys Guarbreak is the key to countering it. GB has a VERY short range, so you can just stay on distance and practically never get broken.

Well on my PC it is not possible to defend it. Even when I see the symbol and press it really quickly I'm too late. I guess you have really take the latency into account to do the defend. And if you have a mid or low NAT ... well you can't defend it, because the defend-action will be send too late. I would say at the moment it really takes 500 ms to peform it. Adding another 300 - 500 ms and it would be fine.
