    Alternate Controller settings

Since you will want to be prepared at any moment to block, dodge, or guard break, it makes no sense to put all of these commands where only the right thumb can reach. Locking on (while toggled as it should be by default) and chat options can easily be put onto the face buttons with dodge and guard break put onto the left shoulder buttons. The current control layout makes countering a guard break extremely difficult and means that only assassin classes will dodge often as it simply is rarely worth it for the other classes.

Please add in an alternate mapping for all systems so that nobody has to wrestle with this obviously inferior mapping. Even on consoles alternate control mappings are not at all unheard of, so I can't imagine why this has not already been included.

It's ridiculous that we can't rebind buttons.

Who the hell decided to put Dodge and Guard break on the face buttons? And waste LB on the chat?

    This makes more sense:
    LB: Dodge
    RStick Press: Guard Break

    agree

I agree it makes no sense to not allow controller configuration personally i would prefer the light heavy attacks to be on the face buttons and possibly put the guard /dodge on the RB/RT it just makes no sense putting the most used move attacking on your triggers and not the buttons just my input..

    LB for Guard Breaks?

Personally I think the control scheme is great, apart from one thing. The fact that all your defensive actions is on the same thumb makes it harder for controller users to be effective in combat as opposed to mouse & keyboard.

When defending from attackers you have basicly 3 options.

    1. Block/counterparry their attack
    2. Perfect dodge counter
    3. Guard break counter.

With the amount of animation canceling and combo chaining, effectively blocking and using a guard break counter is extremely hard with this control scheme.
I for one would like to see the Guard Break button on the controller moved to LB instead of X (Xbox controller) seeing as the "call for aid" ability is not as important in an 1v1 combat as the guard break is. I bring this concern up mostly because 90-95% of Raiders and Warlords use Guard break and knockbacks to secure their kills. Throwing in animation canceling it is extremely annoying tryng to block attacks and switch to guardbreak counters.

Either you can successfully block their attacks, or use A to make a "perfect dodge counter" but blocking attacks and they throw a guard break into the mix, you have a hard time moving your thumb to X to successfully counter their guard break. moving Guard break to LB would ease up alot for Controll users.
Seeing as Mouse & Keyboard users can simply re-bind Guard break to a more convenient button, they have a much easier time reacting and pressing the right button than a Controll user.

    but hey, that's my opinion.

The attack buttons are on the shoulders because you need to use the right thumbstick to choose your angle of attack, and it would be impossible to parry with Heavy Attack bound to a face button.

Dear Developers, Ubisoft and anyone else responsible for monitoring feedback... PLEASE NOTICE THIS THREAD. If the key mapping is gonna stay like it is right now withour option to change it then players with controllers will be at serious disadvantage comparing to those playing with mouse & keyboard. It's almost impossible to guard break someone when has his finger on guard break button, it's much easier to do it if he has thumb on analog stick and to counter guard breake he must put it in totally different place. You did fantastic job, the game is great to play with a controller. Don't ruin it by making all PC players change it for keyboard. Right now people playing on keyboard have huge upper hand. Put the guard break on LB or Right Stick Press.

    Button Layout

I totally agree. The button layout should be changed to players preferences!
I pla with controller and throw button should be elsewhere, Pressing right analog stick would be one for me. Not the Square (PS -controller)

We really need to be able to put buttons where we want to!

    Like in other fighting games.

Even though we can't change it ingame, it is still possible to remap keys directly on console or the xbox accessory app on the pc. I for one have remapped both X > R3 and A > LB on PC and on ps4 I use Square > R3 and X > L1.

I have been doing this for years with Destiny, so this is second nature for me already.

this game NEEDS, as in will not purchase this games unless it has, 100% custom set up for PC controller mapping. The current controller set up is clustered and seems almost backward to me for a "fighting" game set up.
