Definate buy, but not impressed by P2P.

The fact that there are 3 single player story campaigns and some excellent AI bots is compensation for the P2P.

We will NEVER get PC servers of old anymore (sad), consoles getting online stopped that.
The general matchmaking/server setups nowadays are made console friendly so its easy to technically port over.

Just not buying it because there arent any dedicated servers wont do anything as the majority of people will STILL buy it,
why even though im not 100% happy with the situation im not missing out on a good game because of that issue.

The beta technically seemed good even with P2P and i think it will be ok generally, but where is the anti cheat ^^

I want to buy it and dont want to buy it. On the one side I don't want to promote this game's microtransactions (to be fair doesn't seem p2w to me, you can always just rank up in duels where stats are disabled. If anything it's beta to win xD). I would understand microtransactions if the game had dedicated servers because then you have some maintenance cost for that.

On the other hand though I am madly in love with this game and it's combat mechanics, graphical design and so on and I think I'll bite the bullet and still buy it. Only the base game though and definetley won't pay any money ingame.

I not want ot buy is cause of this low cost P2P Multiplayer.
I am sure there is not way to enhance this game ... never a ladder or ranking will be part of this game like in e-sports.
I will have many poor connections and players who disconnects .... a.s.o.

I dont know why developer dont look on other products .... example.... matchmaking dota2. Disconnects and fails end in low prio pool ...

    BUT
I think I will pay and buy the game cause Friends do .... but i am sure longterm its a mess and normaly everybody should save his money.
Nothing will be changed when players buy a game which has such a bad site for longtime motivation .....

But people will buy it and Ubisoft did all well. High price and low invest.

I am sure many of this flamers here will buy incl. Season Pass ... (and i don´t understand this).
Tell me why should someone invest into servers if people spent money into P2P Solution incl. Season Pass wihtout any forceast for what this additional money will be used......

Obviously people are worried about servers, and I've seen this come up over many games in my time, often times without fans getting their request. I'm sure it must mean a big investment otherwise we'd see it more often, but it would help with this games reputation a great deal. A ranking system will hopefully come, and that could solve the issue of people rage quitting. Overwatch will punish you for that in ranking, and For Honor should certainly follow that model.

All in all, I only got one nice long day with it, but I'm still thinking about it and writing about it, so it obviously won me over and I want more. This game is very original, while still feeling a void fans of games like Chivalry, Dark Souls, Mount & Blade, etc have wanted in a game but never had presented in this kind of fresh format with an original control layout. I hope if you want to see game publishers take chances on games like this more often, you gotta support it if you can, and show them there is a market for games exactly like this. It may not be perfect, it may never be, but with a community behind and devs who care, this could really turn into a beast of a game now, and into its future iterations.

I can understand if you're broke or on a tight budget, but if you buy games on the regular, it's kind of a no brainer to me.
Very well said Sir (I hope). I especially agree with your comments about For Honor's control method and how fresh it is to see a company willing to take a risk on a new idea.

UBI has taken the risk on For Honor and now it is up to us consumers who are into combat and strategy games to pay UBI back by buying this game. Let's make For Honor number one on every game chart.
