It's a by there's no question to it the combat systems new the graphics are great of course there's going to be server issues it was beta there was way worse issues on the alpha it's closed its for testing that's the key word testing the upgrade cuz they understand how many people are interested in love this game already for those of us who love to play this type of game we've been waiting for something for this for years Dev teams been great yeah there's going to be minor issues as there always is in any games any of us have played
I don't think my salt levels can handle it so I'm holding off on buying it.
Too much frustration, revenge mode really shouldn't exist, unfinished or poorly designed targeting when not in "combat mode", ladder exploit is stupid etc. etc. Some classes I don't agree with, both of the shield wielding guys are boring as **** or frustrating as hell to fight - it's always one or the other, never a good fight whether you win or lose, and Peacekeeper does one guard break and pokes you up the armpit for half your health and it's "good game". Some of the "warping" by chasing character suddenly, magically catching up feels so cheap. I just don't trust this game to not frustrate the **** out of me. The worst part though is the feeling of fighting the controls themselves. Staggering/animation lock/rolling being clunky and weird, sometimes I just feel like twisting my controller until i snaps, it doesn't feel good.
It was really, really fun to try and despite my complaints I really had a great time, and thanks for the demo Ubi, but I think it will be a pass for now.
After playing the beta, it's a no-buy until they add dedicated servers. The d/cs and host migrations are annoying as hell, but the smaller delays (block registering as hit, attacks taking an extra second/attacks being instant) are even worse when dueling.
Additionally, They are charging €60 for the game, WITH micro-transactions and borderline p2w mechanics. For that price I expect far more than a game lobby and p2p multiplayer with a faction war that is nothing more than colours on a map at this point.
I also doubt the avarice will stop there. It's a slippery slope and Ubi have been sliding down it for quite a while now. And that's a damn shame, cause the devs should be proud of this game, and if it weren't for the cost-cutting and greed it would be a 9/10 easy.
The strongest vote for BUY I can possibly vote.
I just need to know what the season pass officially offers before I feel conformable pulling that trigger...
defently Won't buy it. After the hype will pass this game will be dead in couple of weeks in PC.
Definitely will not buy, at least at launch, there are many many things that makes this game repetitive and frustrating, guard brake spamming, shield/headbut/shoulder charge spamming, assassin classes dominating in 1v1 matches, no dedicated servers, repetitive gameplay at higher skill level (same combos over and over again, guard brake spamming etc), basically if i got frustrated playing a game for 3 days there is absolutely no reason for me to buy it, although i tried really really hard to like this game since i love medieval type of games, chivalry mount and blade etc
I've bought Gold Edition about an hour ago and I have high hopes for this game.
Nice try for TRYING to compare Mordhau to For Honor. There is no way mordhau can compete with for honor even if considering mordhau having dedicated servers and for honor having P2P. Mordhau is few leagues below and that wont never change. Graphical design aside, for honor is way more dynamic therefore beter and more fun to play.Originally Posted by alucarddraven Go to original post
Bought the Gold Edition immediately when the Closed Beta ended, hell I'd pay another 50€ just to get my hands on the game now.
Other games started to feel "smaller" after I played For Honor.
Don't get me wrong it was fun but I don't know what the loop to keep me playing is going to be, I would need a squad of people to play with for it to be worth the buy. The beta did get me from no interest to intrested though.
P2P instead of dedicated server is a no go.
Game still has potential and I had much fun (for a beta state).
I had only issues with dropping people, disconnection of host, 2-3 time bad latency to host.
In a Beta you know that you can have such issues.
But the root cause is P2P and I am sure this will not change in Final Version, cause the Players, there connectivity and there personal property to rage quit will not change.
Only with dedicated server you have the change to fix this issues and raise actions against rage quitter and cheaters.
Good Work from developer team, bad from comercial.
If no announcment for ded. servers will happend I think "skipping this game" is best option. (to expensive for risk to have bad user experience in core functionality)
