Btw if you're killed using envirement then it's your fault you wasn't aware enought. You live you learn.

You can get revenge mode in 1v1 which is ridiculous.

You can but some environments dont allow you to realy watch your environment,eg wooden bridge in the woods. You basically just have to back off of it and hope your opponent comes to you

I think, that it is also part of skill to navigate you hero away from cliffs, spikes, etc. and still be fighting like acomplete badass

I find environmental kills to be very satisfying. I usually try to lure people to obstacles for a easy kill. If they keep away, then i'll just move on and fight them without environmental assistance. If i see someone who is continuously trying to guard break, i just keep countering with light attacks. Either way, environmental kills are fine.

Some people are bad at parries, some are bad at situational awareness, that's doesn't mean there's an issue with them.

I think some of the people here are possibly missing the purpose of this thread the op is saying that on some of these maps like the tiny nearly completely broken bridge is a problem where if you get guard broken once then you'll die and it's a little too low risk for such a high reward

I don't see where environmental kills fit in to the game. Isn't this supposed to be a fun game? I cannot recall a single instance when I have thrown someone off an edge and felt anything less than disgust, and the rounds I win because of it only make me feel bad about getting the kill as I understand how frustrating those things are. The only way to avoid this is to either run away to a part of the map without ledges, which is often not an option and enemies can camp you out either way, or you could not get guard-broken, which is extremely difficult, as even against high-level players, I have always found a way to get a guard break in.
From a balance perspective, why are environmental kills even in the game? Since when should getting a guard-break in reward you with a free and instant kill just because you were a certain class or at some certain part of the map? Above all else, the environmental kills are not fun in this game at all. I understand that it adds to using your environment to your advantage, but since when does that mean that something as common as a guard break or an attack with strong knock back lead into a free and unavoidable kill? I think that environmental kills should be extremely less common and require a bit more than a guard break to execute.
Thats your own dispreference really. I myself hate environmental hazards but I can understand the strategic element they bring to the game. Makes it so much more dynamic, unpredictable and dangerous.

To be honest, learn to avoid the enviroment. If someone is that stupid to fight on the edge of a cliff or next to a spiked wall, you deserve to be thrown.

They should always be a danger.

But some of the maps were ridiculous. Especially the swamp bridge. 99 of the mid to low skill fights were basically decided by whom was able to press gb faster. This is lame.

some of the characters have half of their abilities based on changing enemy's location, thus using the environment

It sounds like your issue is that "one mistake" can mean instant-death.

Honestly I don't mind instant-deaths. Same with when a player attacks you from above (jumps down) and one hits you.
You have to position your enemy in a very specific way, then do a very specific move.

--When you are on a Bridge, you have to be ready for Guard Breaks.
--When you are in a small Hallway, you are less likely to be attacked from the Left or Right because those attacks would hit the walls.
--When you are near a 2nd story, you could be instant-killed from above, so you have to keep aware of enemies on the 2nd floor.

A BIG part of this game's combat is positioning. You need to see who you are up against, and position yourself in a way that you have an advantage.
If you position yourself near a cliff, yes you are in danger of being thrown off, but you also have the change to throw your enemy off the cliff.

It is PERFECTLY FAIR. You choose where to fight, and how to fight.
