why is everyone complaing about guard breaks. I had no problem countering them. when i am fighting i watch the stupid little icons in the middle of each person, they flash red. guard break is the only shield thing. Instant reaction whenever i see that. and i plan to win, when i am in trouble in a 1v1 i would side step and throw a ***** into spikes or off a ledge idc. I wanna win. stop focusing so hard, if your brain is stopping to identify a red shield as a red shield, you need to practice reacting without thinking. when the game comes out practice with a bot on guard breaking. do it 100 times a day if you need to.
Well I am not talking about dominion mode, there it is ok. But no place for revenge in 1v1. It is like instant win! And for 2v2, you can't really run away, and if you somehow manage to run, maps are not that big and it is easy to catch you when both of your opponents are alive.Originally Posted by I_am_a_robot Go to original post
For me revenge mode is something that gives you some hope when you are outnumbered, it is not 100% that you will survive but still some help.
Problem is that when you kill 2 players in 4v4, because of revenge mode, nothing will happens. Atleast nothing serious, you will get your zone, gain some points but the game goes on. So it is OK to have revenge mode that strong in 4v4.
But if you kill 2 players in 2v2 because of revenge mode, you will win the match and that is the problem.
I think messing around with the actual guard break -> throw would massively unbalance the characters as they are, I'd be very wary of that.
I also enjoy the danger of instant death in duels, it makes those areas play very differently, and the variety is good.
From my perspective, it'd be great to have a way to "tech" the actual environmental death - let us grab a ledge, brace against a spike wall etc. to allow us to convert an instant loss into a severe disadvantage (health damage, locked in ledge recovery, predictable stagger - that sort of thing) which the attacker needs to follow up to convert to a win. It'd deepen the environmental damage game, and provide more things for skilled players to keep in mind.

I personally like playing without honor and playing dirty tricks on my enemies. When enemies expect you to play by the rules, then don't. I had a blast playing this game and 70% of my kills we're just enviremental tricks. I even launched 1vs1 and such just to see if I can manage to fight only using envirement. I happened to pulloff 1vs2 fight after my friend was chopped to pieces, just because I ran to a small thin part of the asian bridge with gaps so I could take them 1 by 1 and so I could throw them off the bridge. Yes, I'm rocking throwing range shoulder pads.
Btw they can't guard break you if you're attacking or rolling so just chain them on bridges and near walls with spikes because most people just spam that guard break and die as they bounce off you![]()
You can get revenge mode in a 1v1 duel?Originally Posted by Katsu_san Go to original post
As for the environmental kills yes it is a little sad when you achieve it but then as others have said, you need to position yourself not to allow it to happen. It just adds to the pressure and tactics of the game and I for one am all for that!
Im pretty sure you can, just have to be patient enough.Originally Posted by Dude_of_Valor Go to original post
Btw if you're killed using envirement then it's your fault you wasn't aware enought. You live you learn.
Yes you can. It happened to me few times during last BETA and also here is one youtube video where you can see it tooOriginally Posted by Dude_of_Valor Go to original post(not my video tho)
