Every single encounter I've seen people face Nobushi, they act as if she isn't a long range character, and stand within range waiting to get rekt by her Naginata.
Looking at how fast she is, she herself isn't that fast. The time between her attacks are fast, but she has a relatively slow startup that can be taken advantage of. Her raw attack strength isn't strong at all. And I just can't take the bleed complaint seriously. It does very little damage and it has never decided the victor of a fight for me, but it has stopped runners from from running away when they knew they were going to lose, and I think they don't like that they can't run away. lol
If Nobushi is OP, then it isn't by her strength or speed, it's by her general design. I'm sure Valkyrie will suffer from this as well, also having a spear. People who don't know how to deal with her range, will still not know how to deal with her. She's actually somewhat difficult to play so making her harder to use isn't a problem either.
But here is my feedback about her. What people should be complaining about is her health and guard. She plays somewhat like an Assassin, being a hybrid class, but she doesn't have the drawbacks of an Assassin class, just the benefits. Her health is decent, she doesn't have to block right before an attack, and she has long range attacks which keeps her away from harm. If she's going to be nerfed at all, I think nerfing those two would be a good alternative.
She appears op at first but she isn't that bad, the counter is to get in her face and parry a lot. However she is bugged and has a "Phantom bleed" where she can out to about 20 feet from another player character inflict a bleed effect without needing to make contact and i think this could also go through guards at certain distances but don't quote me on that. The one who needs a look at and is really over powered is the Peacekeeper, they can be built in a way that can cause an over 60%+ bleed damage by using the guard break and the unblockable stab attack and this is just in one use mind you.
Most people dont know how to deal with most things. Hence all the " X is OP" or "Pls buff X" Threads. What I really dislike is the Poison being lethal. It takes a lot of tension away in the 1v1/2v2 modes.
I'd say Nobushi's difficulty is on the easier side unless you're fighting in a very cramped space. She has a relatively long range dodge roll and much of her moveset includes a back step or knockback. The range advantage is difficult enough to overcome without bleed.
The issue most people have isn't about the bleed DPS per se. The problem is that it's too easy to apply as it require very little commitment and thus minimal risk to Nobushi. As it is, bleeds are light attacks with heavy attack damage. If the bleeds effects were applied by heavy attacks with the corresponding stamina cost and attack speed, I don't think as many people would find it as unfair.
I agree that most people don't know how to fight against her, but how can they learn when most Nobushi players just bleed you to death from afar. I personally don't see too much wrong with her, but I definitely would like to see the bleed not be lethal. It'll actually make the current nobushi players play her the way she was intended to be played with other combos, instead of just the backstep bleed.
