I understand how this mechanic works, and I know how to counter it. I have killed players that were on revenge mode, and I have died while on revenge mode. The point I am making is that I can spam this ability multiple times in less than 30 secs. Anyone can spam this ability without any consequences. All you have to do is spec into revenge mode gain stats on your gear, and you will gain your revenge mode so quickly by blocking or taking hits. I can literally go into 1v2/3/4 fight. Get on revenge mode and do some damage. Kill someone or my teamate will kill someone. Then i can retreat and repeat that same maneuver as long i am alive. How is that not broken? Right now, the meta is stacking on revenge mode stats. Feats have cooldowns. You can't spam them. Why can't revenge mode have a cooldown? It needs to be reworked. The bottom line is that you shouldn't be able to spam this ability. It defeats the whole purpose of working together as team.
I don't think it's OP, but it feels kind of weird and don't really logically scales with basic gameplay. And i don't really understand why we need Revenge in the game at all. Maybe this mechanic can be reworked or something, but now i don't see a logical explanation for this mechanic and what place in strategical balance it should take at the end when meta is set up.
A single player shouldn't just be able to not have an equalizer to getting gank'ed, with more than 2 it's really you are as good as dead , however ganksters and people that WON'T stand and fight or always are in a party and refuse to play without at least a friend ( game mode needed no parties by the way developers for solo-ers , I'm not one but let looking out for you) need that fighting chance. If you coordinated your attacks where he/she wasn't blocking/parrying and not super ganking then they wouldn't get revenge mode fyi. You go left I'll go up, they can't block two at once unless they are conqueror. Knowing what your opponent can do is half the battle. I learned the hard way and am still learning. Do advanced training before beta ends, look at your move set an those of all other hero's. If you don't have then unlocked , and don't want to look online. Some good points in the thread about why revenge mode should be reworked. I don't mind it but it's a very simple mechanic and I think it lacks depth. I would've liked to see each class type have a different bonus from revenge mode, the current revenge mode should be similar to what a heavy gets. I don't know what should happen for other classes, move/attack speed maybe, unblockables are another thing that could be worked into revenge mode... I don't mind the concept I just feel it's a boring generic sort of buff and looks weird when an assassin class becomes a tank.
After reading some of these posts I can agree that both sides have valid points. I personally like the revenge system i would say that punishes people from button mashing which I would say 95% of the time is the case why I get my revenge up quickly. But I do think there should be cooldown on it so that way no one can spam it.
