I see a lot of posts from you simply speculating that because you happen to dislike the game everyone else does to. I'm curious where you get your statistics.
well i actually had to stop preordering, i just noticed how unresponsive this game becomes once you get matched with a ridiculous red ping players, if i see this issue remain in full game - then this will be it for me already, players with bad connections simply should not be able to play online - that simple.
I genuinly love the game, I think its fun and great. BUT i agree with the original poster. The P2P is ruining an otherwise great experience, not only for me and OP, but for a lot of people. If you look at the For Honor subreddit ( reddit.Com/r/Forhonor ) Youll see that half the posts are complaining about P2P and g the games instability. This game NEEDS dedicated servers to stabilise the gameplay for everyone and to actually make the game worth buying for people who dont have unlimited funds. At the moment, dropping out of 4/5 games due to peer to peer hosting makes the game unplayable. Unless an announcement comes promising dedicated servers on release, a lot of people wont buy and the otherwise great game will flop. Then everyone loses. But hey, you cant drop out of games if theres nobody playing to make games to drop out of.Originally Posted by SovietRoulette Go to original post
You don't need statistics to see that P2P is this games biggest downfall, to the point where it's making or breaking a lot of peoples views on this game, and so it should.Originally Posted by SovietRoulette Go to original post
Not that I don't want to play it, it's actually the opposite. I do want to play it, but I can't. NBN upgrade won't get to me for well over a year I think, so. Until then, this game just has too many issues with a P2P connection. I won't even mention the people who will have to wait until 2020 or 2021 in this country to get an internet upgrade. They need to go dedicated, it's a competitive multiplayer arena game. Putting P2P in that is just cheap, and a bad decision. It's almost an insult to their customer base. They're charging us $80 after all, there are F2P games that have dedicated servers. They have no excuse, they just want as much profit as possible, as quickly as they can. I was really looking forward to this, a proper skill based PVP game that really grabbed my attention, and it's been ruined because they obviously don't care much for their customers experience after they pay for it. Unless I'm just going to play with bots, or wade through the endless connection issues, lag and drop outs that come with a P2P networking system which doesn't even guarentee me one full round of gameplay.
Oh I agree P2P is ****ing terrible but other than that the game is very solid from what I've seen, a few minor balancing issues with bleeds and Orochi having too much damage/speed but honestly it's remarkably well balanced especially for an ubisoft game. but yes P2P is bad and I wish someone at Ubisoft with some brains would be in charge of networking development for their titles and start firing anyone who uses the phrase "we should use P2P"
Yeah man like I said, I actually really enjoy this game. But at the same time I can't because of the P2P issues. If they don't introduce dedicated servers, I'm out. P2P was maybe acceptable, a decade ago. But not today.Originally Posted by SovietRoulette Go to original post
I don't understand why they used P2P. Is there some advantage besides saving money? Like does it lower the ping if you live in a country that would otherwise be far from a dedicated server?Originally Posted by Marzk0 Go to original post
I play several other moba/battleground type games that use dedicated servers (GW2, SMITE, etc) and I hardly ever experience bad lag, disconnects etc, but with For Honor I seem to be getting disconnects three out of every four games or so, which is quite off-putting.
really why is everyone hating the orochi?! if anything fix the ****ing warden and his shoulder bash spam is ridiculousOriginally Posted by SovietRoulette Go to original post
P2P has got to go. No MP game should be using P2P in 2017. It's ridiculous.
people are hating on Orochi because Orochi isn't balanced properly, in 1v1 and 2v2 with locked stats he does about as much damage on a light attack as the vanguards and attacks 3 times in the same time it takes them to attack once if you use his combos (twice for the Warden but that is Warden's thing and his light attacks are weaker for that reason) then you couple that together with the fact that he can deflect break and hit you with an unblockable heavy attack that does massive damage for very little stamina and that he can stagger lock players with light attacks or just play highly defensive and constantly deflect and unblockable you to death. He is a fun character to play and I can see why people would like him aesthetics wise but he really is in need of balancing. It isn't a huge amount that he needs he just needs a damage assessment honestly, his damage being lowered just a bit would balance him considerably without making him weak, he has a very strong kit and very strong mobility which makes him very fun to dance around with but when it comes down to it this game is about inflicting damage on your enemy and he is sadly massively superior at it compared to the rest of the characters.Originally Posted by ExcitablePro117 Go to original post
