Right off the bat, the interface is not optimized one iota for PC's. If you are going to charge me full price for a PC version of a game, it better have received as much attention as the console version. This didn't happen. I won't be paying money for this game until that does happen. Either that, or PC version should be cheaper than console version, if you aren't going to provide us the same level of consumer support and care.
The friend system is atrocious. Me and my buddy spent more time this weekend trying to be in the same group than we spent playing. This is unforgivable. This game is already 2 weeks from launch. There isn't enough time to fix the many interface and mouse/keyboard control issues, along with overhauling the entire layout of the PC friends system. Group should not drop, unless you SPECIFICALLY choose a drop group option. Group leader should be able to have group leave and enter whatever without constant drops. Group invite system needs an overhaul. Group leave system needs an overhaul.
Movement speed while locked into target mode is far too slow. Sprint speed while not locked out of target mode lasts forever. There should be some sort of stamina bar that runs out, similar to Diablo 2. This would help a lot with people who just run circles trying to grief. If you want to see what it looks like when combatants engage, watch some HEMA (historic european martial arts) videos. Combat system feels really slow, compared to what you get in real life. This is a game. I don't want to feel like I'm playing in slow motion underwater.
My overall impression of the combat system is a lot of wasted potential. I get what you are trying to do with the different directions to block, but that doesn't work too well in practice. I can see how that system would be amazing in a VR version of this game, but for regular gamepad/keyboard play, it doesn't translate very well.
I haven't, and won't, play this on console. One drawback of the Beta is locking it to only one system. I see another typical Ubisoft cash grab in the works. If I buy the game, I should be able to play it on my Xbox, PS3, or PC without paying 180$, plus whatever DLC Ubisoft will inevitably make mandatory because Ubisoft. If I beta test this game, I should be able to beta test on all 3 platforms. Since I am locked to one, I chose PC, because you can always, always tell how much consumer regard a company has based on the PC version. If less regard is paid to that, then you know they have a level of contempt for the consumer, and simply want the money.
I imagine in about 6 months I'll be looking through some forums and gathering opinions on For Honor. If you manage to fix a lot of this stuff, great. I'll be picking this up for sure. But I don't have much hope you will.
Oh, and your forums don't even function. Why?
I totally agree with you. The controls can be managed on the keyboard, but clearly this game is made and optimized for consoles which I do not play. I was really looking forward to this. Will now wait and not pre-order.
WHY WOULD YOU RELEASE A GAME FOR PC THAT OBVIOUSLY WASNT MEANT FOR PC! This is the most aggravating poor thought out game I have ever played. Its so OBVIOUS it was designed with console in mind so why in the HELL would you release it to PC?
Way to screw over the PC gamers!
Agree to everything. This is for me atleast, a gamebreaker. I was planning on buying the game, but until the controls are "fixed" or rather that you can config your own buttonlayout, there is not a chance IŽll spend 60euros on an unplayable game!
Agree to everything also and ITS SO HARD TO BLOCK WITH MOUSE WHEN YOU PLAY ON PC. Like my blocks are always on the wrong side and I know its not me its this game.Im playing MMOS and FPS games 4ever but this is so frostuating ....I try even to slow down my mouse sensitiviti but this even didint help ......Originally Posted by Madigral Go to original post
I play on pc and i know blocking is annoying with the mouse but instead of whine , lets help them to improve the mechanics
