I want to believe that Wildlands could be a great game.
But ubisofts track record in broken and downgraded games is a big warning for me.
I been around these forums for 11+ years, played most of the games in ubisoft catalouge and most of the times bought the games on releaseday and followed up with a lot of in-game purchases.
I think ubisoft and all their studios have some great ideas and ip's / series.
But none of them are worth getting on release...better off to wait 6-8 months to get a more polished product for a lower price.
The problem is that, that does not help the developers to bring in money for sequels and to support the games with content.
R6 is a game that comes to mind, the first 4 months me and my friends spent more time in the menu than actually play our GE for $80...matchmaking and general netcode was horrible, bugs and crashes was a daily business.
Now...over a year later it's a decent and more stable product...but now you can get it for $20.
I'm close to pre-order the SE of Wildlands but i will wait for the beta. And IF you tell your customers what they will get with the season pass and not be all quiet about it...you might get a few more of those sold.
Thats another shady thing ubisoft have started with their games..a seasonpass but without details on what you get.
R6 seasonpass is probably the worst in game history.
Anyway...i'm still here and somewhat loyal, but it's taking it's toll.
Let's hope Wildlands will be everything ubisoft says and not just another broken fullprice product.
*Talks about Ubisofts track record of broken and downgraded games*
*Proceeds to tell us in the past 11 years he's bought nearly every Ubisoft game, and quite a few of them on release day*
I think the thread should really be about whether or not you can resist buying on launch day and waiting for some official reviews.

Reviews are often out 3-4 days before release and many times the writers have only had access to sp since servers are empty/not up and running.Originally Posted by Easy_Duhz_It_ Go to original post
Reviews from usually biased magazines. Your best bet would be, assuming you have access to it anyway, RedBox or Gamefly. Rent first, form your own opinion then buy or don't buy.Originally Posted by bent_toe Go to original post
Unfortunally we do not have rental options here in Sweden.Originally Posted by Easy_Duhz_It_ Go to original post
And i read reviews from ign, kotaku, gamespot, playstation lifestyle, fz and a few more. Most of the time i go to metacritic and read user reviews.
Lol, well after The Division and its Season Pass it is blatantly, painfully, insultingly clear that we absolutely can not trust Ubisoft.
As for the price, rather than waiting for it to become cheaper a while after release, could just buy it on release for like 40 bucks cheaper from a third party key seller.
And pass on the Season Pass from now on! Just buy DLC as it's released once you actually see it.
