    Guard break priority

Guard break should not be the LAST on priority hit list.. if I do a guard break and someone starts a heavy hit *after* my animation begins.. MY move should take affect NOT theirs..

guardbreaks break someone's guard... meaning if they aren't guarding... nothing breaks... I see no problem.

I agree and disagree with you. I've felt very annoyed by this at times vs conqs and warlords. They are in guard mode, you attempt a guard break, but they start and attack right before so you end up in the fallout animation while they hit you and you did nothing to them.

But it is called "guard" break, so if they are mid-attack animation and not guarding, what is there to break? This is the part where I disagree and tell you that, this is part of the risk/reward of the combat system. The battle of wits, of what move should i do next. And being punished for choosing the wrong move.

Maybe a solution is for attacks to have a windup phase/animation where the attack is still interpretable early in the animation with a guard break, while if you are mostly through the animation the guard break still fails.

Sadly I think we are too far into development for something like a mutli-phase attack animation to be developed before launch.. If ever.

This is already a thing. Its called the startup. Read about how the Warlord plays and you'll learn about it.

I think you are misunderstanding, warlords may have their "startup", but we're talking about the guard break vs attack animation and as far as I know, guard breaks don't interrupt any mid-attack attacks, no matter how early you are into the attack animation. I've noticed this, especially against raiders. if they start their heavy attack even a split second before you guard break, you will just fall forward leaving yourself open to the attack.

^^This.. I've tested it within every portion of the animations..
