For starting : I'm Psyhodelik, actually in charge of the French Community onTrials.fr, so sorry in advance for bad english. Try to do my best
For the second time, i have a huge chance to be inviting by Ubisoft Red Lynx in Helsinki to visiting studio and take part on some workshop.
On this trip, i was with PL Squrd, Inquisitor Fin, Nova Darkstorm, Braders77UK, Venomz, Blazejp, Sandy Sandholm, Professor FatShady, Psycad, & Jack P from Rooster Teeth.
In the first time, i was go to see my French Friend ou actually worked with Red Lynx this 6 last month, Davi Tekila. It was a huge pleasure to see him at actually on his working place.
At the first night, we all going on Karting. That's been an awesome occasion to beat Venomz on the lap time... but nop... It still beat me by 1 second and a half...
Or i was just too heavy and i starting drifting on every single turn...
So, we certainly not been invited just for some beer and go to the Karting with friends... The principal reason is actually to does somes workshop at the studio.
But you must suspect it... i cannot tell anything about that. We all was on NDA stuff.
BUT, i can give you one of the example.
One of the excercie consisting to tell 3 highly positive thing on Trials Fusion and 3 Highly negative thing on Trials Fusion...
And this is all the point of this kind of trip. We can talk and tell every what we feels in face to face without any kind of fear or filter on every problématique subject. This is really apreciable. And i can tell you some point was loudly discuss with much passion.
One of us was saying the TKO Panda is a positives and good things... I'm not gonna tell you who is it... but is turning straight white when is see ours faces and "WTF DUDE ???" "HOW ??? WHY ???" xD haha that's was hilarious moment ^^
During the official stream, you can see just here
Blazejp having a good fun during certain challenge...
On my side and with the help of InquisitorFin, we bring the occasion to talk about the importance and the spirit of the Ninja scenes during the French Trip track. And actually showing somes "ninja skill" at our humble level.
After the work, the stomach is empty. So we going to a very tasty restaurant in Helsinki with the crew and you can see in the picture... Venomz has already speedruning his plate.
It's really impressive and near unbelievable to meet some guys that you just know from internet or just eard about it and in really few days get acquainted so well that it finish by become close friend. It's really indescriptible good feelings.
The Tattoo on the leg of PL Squrd ^^
Jack P from Rooster Teeth was an huge and loveable guy
P.S. : I have maybe somes vidéo from karaoke bar and other stuff... I'm gonna check it if i can share it too you![]()
I let you with somes other pictures, if you have any questions. Feel free to ask. I try to answer at my best has i can.

This forum is basically dead, but it'd be interesting to hear the thoughts of the community on this "inner circle" system Redlynx has chosen for quite some time now.
Does nobody else question the nature of having people give feedback on their product after having a paid flight to the studio, and getting a look at the next Trials?
While I know we have some skilled players in that circle, that skill becomes irrelevant when the priority becomes "How to maintain this relationship with Redlynx" as opposed to "How to make sure the next Trials is good". This is the problem.
Unfortunately, the people who aren't afraid to be brutally honest are the ones that will never be welcome to these types of events. Like Willyumz. Even though he's one of the more respected and articulate members we have/had.
This isn't me being negative or trying to stir the pot. This is my genuine concern with this system Redlynx has in place which I consider inherently flawed and counter-intuitive.
But, like I said: I'd like to hear the community's thoughts.
Hey Max,
On the point about 'the people who aren't afraid to be brutally honest are the ones that will never be welcome' is completely wrong in my opinion.
For starters (I'm sure Fin won't mind me using him as an example) when they were testing blood dragon and got invited last year, Fin was negative the WHOLE time and didn't say 1 thing positive about the game from what I heard.
And by no means did we all just agree with everything during the recent trip.
If I remember correctly someone at Redlynx specifically said that they much prefer people to be honest and not agree with everything, the people that do agree with everything aren't any use to them and Ubisoft wouldn't be able to justify inviting someone like that.
Some people on the forums may disagree with stuff and be honest whilst doing so but not do it in a constructive way and bash the game, mentioning no names of course...
Anyway lets get back on topic about the awesome pictures and story Dalibor has made for us!!
Awesome write up Psykodelic, it has been a great and awesome adventure for us all. To be there in the flesh, a dream come true.
On the point about being negative, you can be negative about stuff if need be, you just need to be constructive about it and not throw all swear words into the face of the hard working developers that have gone through making the games in a manner for everyone.
We have discussed many things on trials games like Fusion and Blood Dragon, even going back to the roots of HD and Evo and so has everyone here on the forums. There has been many years gone by but people still come and go because they feel that the passion is lost or they have just moved on or decide to give it another chance. Not everyone is going to be motivated about every single game be it sequel or pre sequel or just a plain new game.
Unfortunately, the history of people who have been banned, myself included, support my notion of being blacklisted for sharing our less-than positive opinions of the game. We have been labeled as a "toxic" part of the community, and I never saw that statement apologized for or taken back.Originally Posted by NSP_I_VeNoMz Go to original post
If that's true, I'm glad Fin was making an effort to bring them into the light. Although, the game was never meant for 'us', anyway.
See, it's very easy to disregard useful feedback as "bashing" if you're sensitive. The point is for the person on the receiving end to find the constructive message.
Tire glitches better have been 50% of the words from you, on behalf of the speedrunners. Sandy, too.
There aren't many left in the community on here, but it would be great if things were opened up to a real discussion with us. It does seem that RL has a select group they bring out or confer with regarding Trials. I'd rather see new faces, than the same ones honestly. Nothing against the people there, as I know a few and think they bring a lot to the game.Originally Posted by xzamplez Go to original post
I'm guessing that opinions and true feedback was encouraged, as mentioned earlier in the thread. It would be useless to fly out a bunch of people so they can tell you "great job...looks good".
It's a decent investment actually. Plane tickets and room in Finland aren't cheap.
It may be in the cards for future RL streams, but I have yet to see it. Give and take...full dedicated streams regarding the next installment. Or, 30 minutes of multiple streams that are targeted discussions. Even Google chats would be a good idea. Take a different set of people than those usually chosen to discuss the game.
General news on when discussion on the next title will occur, would be a good start. We aren't even talking about a title release date, but a date for discussing...it's pretty rough.
Great pics Psy. Enjoy seeing these, and putting faces to names. Thanks for sharing.![]()
Can I just add that from being part of the 2016 Trip, these workshop sessions are quite intense. You need to go in there with the attitude to be totally honest. Tell them what you like, and the things you don't, but with reasons as to why.
Feedback given properly and honestly is so important for all future projects, and especially given the chance to say it to the Devs face to face.
I had nothing but respect for the 2016 group for their honesty.
I'm sure the guys did a good job this time round. Especially seeing the diverse and talented group of people that went this time. We need to bare in mind that if these workshop trips didn't work, and weren't affective, then we wouldn't see them happening right!![]()
