🛈 Announcement
Greetings! The For Honor forums are now archived and accessible in read-only mode, please go to the new platform to discuss the game

Rage induced two cents, but in a very good way.

Prepare for a sloppy forum post. I don't mess with HTML, 'kay. I'll keep it PG-13 though, for you 12 year olds out there.

For Honor is everything I could want out of.. whatever kind of game this is. All I ask for in a game is combat that's rewarding and clever, yet simple. However a few things put a stop to my For Honor wet dream.

We'll start with the noob whining. You know, the stuff you whine about when you're a nooblet and don't know how to counter-play anything.
    -
    1. Hyper armor.
    2. Instant counter-attacks.
    3. Emote spam.
    4. Brawl revivals.
    5. Gravity.
    6. Dodge spam (Not the roll, the actual step. Spam for days and effectively side-swing lights with any assassin.)
    7. Ridiculously fast unblockables.
    8. Guard break spam.
    9. That one bad viking who hits you out of every combo, and he's on your team.
    10. Inactive/useless generals. (Bro, I'm trying to win a faction war.)
    11. Peacekeepers. Seriously.
    12. Sprinting away from revenge. Sprinting in general. If I had a dollar for every time someone sprinted away from an a** whoopin' I'd be able to pre-order For Honor Gold Edition.

What I loved about the game
    -
    1. Learning curve. (I usually catch onto things pretty fast, however this took me about 6 or 7 hours to become "decent" at, and I still don't incorporate dodge-steps/rolls or non-unblockable guard breaks.. or parries. Two of the three friends I invited played 8 games, raged, and decided not to pre-order the game. A damn shame, I say.)
    2. Aesthetics. (Kreygasm)
    3. Of course the combat.
    4. The adrenaline pumping, rage inducing atmosphere.

    Things I personally would adjust
    -
    1. Parry HUD flashes. I may be hallucinating, but the parry flashes twice, once at the start-up of the parry-able attack, and when you should parry. If your adrenaline is going, and you're jumpy, you're going to mash parry the first flash. At least I did 80% of the time. Makes the over-all pacing of the parry seem awkward, thus I suggest one super bright OMG PARRY flash.

    2. Something's gotta happen with sprinting. I don't know what, but oh man. Reduce the speed a tad bit? Give it some kind of penalty? I refuse to give up stats for run speed, even though I don't play domination. I go from fighting an intense battle to running a marathon against a Kenyan. So I fast I can't even fathom the speed, slow down Sonic, patrol we got a high-roller on the bridge send back-up. Someone halp pls.

    3. Vikings ??????!???!?!? My brain can't even function correctly, it's drowning in salt right now. Holy hyper armor, holy "I don't gotta block, YOU block", HOOOOOLY UNBROCKABRUUU! I don't even know what I'd do to vikings. But do something. Give the females grizzly mustaches as an adornment. Take that, Vikings.

    4. Stamina cost on dodge-steps and guard breaks. Tweak just a liiiil bit. Jus'.. jus' a lil bit.

    5. I'd completely remove revivals from Brawl, I feel it serves no purpose in this mode. "To revive", yes, obviously, but it ruins my immersion, 'kay?

    6. As a Nobushi main, her engagements seem a little weak. I understand she's a poke class, but sometimes you gotta give 'em what they want, you GOTTA GO IIIN. Also, the slo-mo introduction during the VS loading screen.. HA! I'd like to see anybody charge at someone else like that and not get bopped.

    Unusual Bugs
    -
    1. After reviving an AI teammate, my game crashed, however only this particular instance when it was an Orochi in a brawl vs AI game.

    2. Had a Conqueror pull the sickest Matrix I ever done seen. He fell into the water, then out of it, and back in again. I don't even- I don't know, but it happened. On the map with the swamp-ish bridge.

    3. As Nobushi my weapon spun around me in a circle after I died, taunting me, expertly depicting the circumference of my freshly torn butt-hole.

    Final Thoughts
    -

It truly was a pleasure to take part in the For Honor Beta, the only other game I was super hyped for was Final Fantasy XV and oh boy did that let me down. But you guys didn't. I appreciate dat. Thank you for inviting me, and I hope all goes well with your game, if this doesn't become an e-sport I'll actually cry. Ah, also, please make it possible to rotate the colors in the preset color pallets, that'd be awesome. That's all from me. It's 2:51 PM, the sun is out, and my eyes are burning from how long I stayed up yelling at my television. Also, if you play VIKINGS OR CONQUEROR YOU'RE SCUM. D:

(This post is not meant to be offensive to anyone who plays Vikings. Or conqueror. Or Peacekeeper for that matter((or 12 year olds)). All fun and satire.. mostly. Enjoy the game guys!)

    So.. Um... Lets get started:

What emote spam? What about gravity? What about Peacemakers.... etc... You are right. These sound like N00B complaints because that's all they are. I have a problem with X. But not expanding on specifics. Not giving details. It isn't helpful for anyone to identify the issue and make changes when there isn't any feed back. Your whole N00B list isn't too constructive. Sorry, not trying to be an ***. The only one I can relate to (and understand) is the sprinting. Sometimes you gotta get away before you get killed; however, you are right. There isn't a way to catch up and take care of someone unless you've unlocked an arrow or some type of FEAT to deal with it. I should be able to slash their achillies when they run away, and finish them off. Maybe force them to loose points when they disengage from conflict.

I do get the satire, and I play Peacemaker and I'm not offended by any means. But that initial list could use some explaination. I don't know if I disagree or agree with anything you state. I would be very interested in some elaboration on those initial bullets.'

I do agree with the vikings, they are ridiculous sometimes. I always get killed by them whenever I try to block. So, I have to slash their throats when they try to sling their slow weapons around.

I absolutely agree with the OP, i'm going to point out two issues I have with the combat/characters
-Guard Break: too easy to spam, and the Peacekeepers get an undodgeable and unblockable poison multi-stab if they guard break, the fact the guard break is 90% undodgeable is bull****
-Gravity: i assume this is about being guard broken into a push off a ledge... anyway that is also bs, especially when the 2 shield classes get away with it so easy.
