So, I got this game in the ubisoft club a month ago, and I set my ds4 controller with a program called imputmapper to be able to play it with a controller.
It worked until now
Now it does say the controller was recognized on the Uplay interface, and it even lets me start the game pressing X(A, on the xbox controller), but when I try to interact in the menu, the controller simply doesnt respond.
Ive tryed everything, from replugging the controller to deleting the bindings path, and none of te things I did actually helped me. Ive been reading forum threads for almost a day now looking for a fix, and nothing
Some people say it is linked to Nvidia sahdowplay, but I have a AMD graphic card.
I just want to play this game, could someone help me?
Yeah, but the problem isnt the program, since it works on the other games I use it to playOriginally Posted by BlackLotusLV Go to original post
Do you by chance own the Steam version of The Crew, or have Steam installed ? Edit: Nevermind, you said you got it through UPlay. The bit below may still be of help, however.
If so, I would enter 'Big Picture Mode' and look at the controller configurations there. Valve recently introduced native controller support on Steam (except for DS3 controllers, still need SCPToolkit or BetterDS3 for those), which makes DS4 controllers compatible in any application. You may have to 'detect' and map the buttons for your DS4 gamepad, then you should be good to go. You can even use the gamepad as a replacement for a mouse and keyboard to operate Windows now, its pretty cool.
Ok, now for an update on my situation
Fully reinstalled the game, and while in the demo mode it worked 100%.
Then the game finished its download, and it came back to the same dead end.
With further searching, I found out my problem is tied up with key bindings of the controller, and a lot of people had this problem but I havent found anyone with a proper fix.
Ive found a thread of a guy who offered his bindigs_pad folder for downloading, and said that if I put it in the place of my xml, it would fix it
Ive done it, but I think his coding might not be apropiate to my type of controller, because the hotkeys became all messy, and still my problem couldnt be solved.
Then I stumbled upon some guy who said the autodetect feature was causing the trouble, so I switched to the "controller" mode, and it surprisingly worked, but only for 1 playthrough
The game froze (because of high usage of CPU, normal thing in my PC), and when I logged in the game again, all my work was lost.
So, my situation is:
Everytime i try to map hotkeys, it bugs and dont work properly. And when I click on "set to default" it just fills all the controller spaces with blank imputs instead of filling with the Xbox controller buttons (like it should).
Going to contact support, and if I cant solve this problem until next weekend (when I get to play the game again), I think I will just give up on Ubisoft![]()
