Revenge mode is a strange system in For Honor. It seems to be a way to reward people losing fights which in a game so focused on skill, that just doesn't make sense. I believe that Revenge mode needs to be toned down immensely, or removed entirely from the game. It adds nothing to the experience, an example are the Shield heroes just standing in mobs and building up revenge by taking damage before engaging in team fights. Another example I was playing as Kinsei and I had chased to deep, I was attacked by three enemies, by all means I should have lost I needed to be punished but instead I got revenge killed two and escaped death. This system is terrible and shouldn't exist at all or it at least needs to be balanced out a little better.
In a game based on skill why the hell is there a revenge mode? Very stupid mechanism. Oh and lets make Vikings that can spam one move over and over again. Why the **** do we have game developers that miss important details making a game like For Honor? Is the fighting not supposed to be balanced and precise? How can you not break guard mid swing? Wtf? Cause if you shoulder charge someone mid swing they'll still hit you with an axe almost their height right? Stupid. Get your head out of your asses and make this something great instead of mediocre. I've wanted this game for sooooo long and come to find out Ubisoft is making it and cutting corners again. Did you even test the Ai on anyone good? The only time they do something other than spam you is in a 2v2, when they run away from you to your Ai and spam him with the double team. Pathetic. Put some work into it the next 2 weeks so we don't have updates up the *** for months. What's in the season pass? The full game? Pathetic. Again.
This is sort of a valid arguement. Most people however do not see it as a comeback mechanic or second wind. They also do not know that you can properly counter it if they are not active in combat. Without it, however, it would be hard to fight a 3v1 gank fest, where I as a conqueror stand a chance when I do have it (assuming I'm not being spam attacked to the point I can't even move/react -- please fix this?)Originally Posted by Stankyfoot Go to original post
They need to remove it all together. The majority of my matches are plagued with gankers who abuse/rely on revenge. I played two matches against a warlord in 2v2 who would get revenge in two blocks when he wasn't spamming his shield break and single swipes and just living in revenge mode. It never helps me seeing as how when the "odds are stacked" against me my revenge is barely over half before Im vaporised by 2+ people.
They could at least remove the knockdown if someone triggers revenge. I mean come on, he puts an button to knockdown everyone down and makes an heavy attack for 50% of your live, yay!
Other than that i think its okay, i mean u can see he got revenge up and can kite him if he uses it and it runs off.
Its weird how someone blocking with shield gets almost same amount of rage as someone that dodge- you can block incoming attacks with shield from all directions from multiple enemies, if you are tagged as assasin by 2 ppl, and you try to dodge it just doesnt work, you get staggered for eternity etc. dodge is basically high risk, low reward, blocking no risk high reward, it just feel stupid.

If someone had no skill, they wouldn't be able to get to revenge as easily, and even if they did, their lack of skill shouldn't cause you death. If you're much better, then block them, parry, or dodge their attacks.
It may be seen as unfair, but I think it definitely has its place. Now, for 1v1 and other game modes where you aren't surrounded by minions and don't have all of the objectives and respawns, then yes I can understand and agree that Revenge shouldn't be there.
As for the knockdown, maybe replace that with a push back, but the knock down is a nice way of getting space and distance when you're surrounded sometimes.
I know some people might hate it, but when a player is laid out on his/her back, we should have an option to kill them where they lay. Be incentive to properly defend yourself.
With blocking, you're unable to attack (counter-attack). You block the attack, and then move on. With a dodge, the other person wastes stamina with a missed attack attempt, while leaving themselves totally open for an attack with no chance to block.
