Yeah I think the orochi needed a nerf from the alpha but the rework is kinda bad

We hope you've had a great first day in the Tech Test. We know it's still early times, but we wanted some of your early impressions on the character balance. In addition to voting, please share your thoughts/opinions in this thread below the poll as well.
Oraichi is fine as is has a way to effectively counter quick draw attack. Kenshin (first samarai on left) is also mostly fine but it could be slower. Dude with the polearm has waaaay too much tracking and swing radius.

In general it also seems like a common tactic for Samurai is to run at low health the Oraichi especially in an attempt to catch you on quick draw attack. He is not the only one the Kenshin tries to do it a lot as well but he isn't as fast so you can counter.

I have been looking forward to this game since the initial announcement last year. Or was it before? I'm not sure but I hope you can make this game what it is hoped to be. I will make additional reviews for the other factions soon. Whatever you guys do please keep the nerfing to a minimum. Most warriors have a way to counter being blocking and waiting or in the counter attackers case timing.

    Samurai p.s.

The guy with halberd has too much range or speed. Impossible to close distance and escaping is a challenge

I think the classes are pretty well balanced. However the Nobushi has a pretty unfair revenge gauge gain. I've pretty much had to fight a nobushi and they get 2 revenges states every encounter. Maybe lessen their revenge gain?

    regarding orochi and kensai

Orochi feels quite blanced being focused with 1v1(lv 5 Orochi). Kensai does feel right but can't say much playing him 2 times

So while I struggle fighting fast orochis sometimes, I don't feel like they are OP anymore. But the Nobushi DEFINITELY is. She has long range, is very quick, has lots of stammina and the god damn bleed attack. I really don't get it. Is there any down-side to this character? Doesn't feel like it. It's nigh-impossible to close the distance, thanks to her kick and backward dash and even in close quarters, she has no disadvantage. a spear SHOULD but you at a disadvantage though, shouldn't it?

Overall, i think she mainly needs to lose the bleed attack cause it is ridicules and her poke-speed needs tuning.

As a alpha and beta tester I feel that Orochi is now balanced. In the Alpha the Orochi's countering and deflect ability was far to easy to use for a class that was labeled "Hard". Now in the Beta, the Orochi actually fits the "Hard". I find the required perfect timing of the deflect to be at a good point, something that really anyone can get but will require some real work and effort when it comes down to it to master. I do find it somewhat tough to use in high pressure situations but I feel that its difficulty to use frequently is what stops it from being misused or making the Orochi overpowered.

As for the Nobishi, while she was by far the toughest character for be to deal with on day 1 of the beta. However, now that I have taken the time to learn her moveset I am finding her much easier to deal with. I do find the Nobishi much easier t deal with when I am playing a class with more range such as the Warden or Raider over using any of the other classes. I feel this is a very important point to the balancing of the game. Depending on how you play depends on what characters do good, or bad, against certain classes. For me, i find it easier to go against classes that are different (assassin vs vanguard / Heavy vs assassin / Vanguard vs Heavy) whereas my friends prefer to fight opponents that are using similar classes (assassin vs assassin ect ect) .

Overall, i feel the Orochi and Nobishi are both balanced, it is just that this is the first time everyone is fighting the Nobishi so she is coming off as OP.

I thought it's a game were: Rule of cool > historical accuracy

Okay... to answere the thread, I personally can't defeat an Nobushi. Kensai or Orochi? I can beat those but I still don't have the hang against an Nobushi... she just bleed me to death because I can't see from which direction her attacks hail (they all look like "from the middle" to me).
Maybe it's an UI issue, I really have trouble seeing the enemy stance indicator.
EDIT: Oh I forgott she has this "Hidden Stance" thing going on... sorry about that.

Samurai are too overpowered. That's why players are gravitating toward them.
