There's no reason to use skill builds.
There's no reason to use most gear sets.

I've given up on this game because it takes ages for someone like me who doesn't have days on end to farm, to put together a great PvE build. By the time I do, it's ruined.

Thanks guys, I no longer have the will to play, because a mode I hate playing and almost never touch has ruined the mode I love playing.

There's something seriously wrong with that.
???? 1.8 has brought the most balance in ages!

Skill builds for PvE or PvP, say hello to the return of the one shot sticky bomb now the delay timer has been removed, just build 9k electronics with Barratt's Chest and Inventive Backpack, and for max SP, roll Skill Power on Knees, Mask and Backpack; 500K Skill Power = 1 shot Sticky Bomb on most players and NPC's!

For a real dirty PvE skill build try 3 Tacticians Authority with 2 Firecrest and Ninja Backpack, 9k electronics, turret damage mods in all slots, hey presto you get a turret that does over 20k damage, just sit back in cover and enjoy the screams!

Classy Striker and Lonestar built right are serious DPS builds (my Classy Striker has 40%CHC & 130% CHD with my House SMG WITHOUT A PULSE!). Classy Final Measure is superb as a quasi support/DPS build. Classy Reclaimer as straight up healer build to support your team is amazing both in PvP and PvE. Deadeye can still 2 shot players. Classy Sentry is probably the strongest PvE build. Even the Hexo build is still viable just need to swap electronics for stamina.

Weapons wise LMG's are viable with the buff of extra damage to targets out of cover, Shottys are real damage dealers - heck the Showstopper is beast now. M4's are still king even with the nerf, SMG's are still superb for burst damage and MMR's in the right hands can hit like a truck.

Come on dude, just put some thought into your builds. Rule of thumb for DPS builds in 1.8 is minimum 450k toughness, rest into Firearms, 6k plus on Firearms and you will do decent damage. Skill builds are simple 9k Electronics which is best used with Tacticians Authority, Firecrest, Final Measure and Reclaimer.

WTF, the one shot sticky bomb is back in PvP, and it never really left PvE, built right you can hit 1.5m damage with a Sticky Bomb in PvE. I love wiping entire mobs of NPC's at spawn points in missions. The key with the Sticky is you need to some skill to aim it!

And the Tact-Crest Ninja Fire Turret is still a monster in PvE even though it's had a PvP nerf, legendary content has never been so easy with a BBQ Turret!

Feels like there's a real gap in the market for build videos now, peeps need to teaching how to do builds. We've the most diverse patch in ages (possibly ever) where most Gearsets are viable for both PvE and PvP.

Totally right, I was wearing my 4 piece Tac, Barrett's vest and skill power increasing backpack yesterday which puts me with the full tacticians bonus at a skill power of 505,000 and my sticky bomb was doing just over 1.5 million damage.

The downside to this is if i miss with it then i have hardly any health so I can be wiped out pretty quick but nothing better than waiting for a group of NPC's to spawn and taking them out nice and easy with it, granted it was also working in the DZ when i was going PvP which was a nice surprise after all the nerfs that skill powers and skills have had!

Everyone wants to state the sticky is back, the sticky sucks big donkey D. I hate that thing, it is a PVE monster but still lame, it does damage in PVP but its still lame. Why is it lame, BECAUSE IT IS LITERALLY THE ONLY SKILL LEFT THAT DOES DAMAGE IN PVP. ITS BEYOND DUMB.

Once they added the delay, AI would just shake it off. The problem was never the aiming. With it in PvP once used the cooldown was way too long and players that survived would just melt you.

FC of anytype in PvP is a waste. with the damage nerf. AI just seems to run through it like they all have Ferros mask.

Ah, but they have now removed the timer from the Sticky Bomb, check the 1.8 patch notes, now you just aim, fire and insta detonate. Like I said the one-shot sticky is back, as I'm sure you know, it's 4 piece TA, Barrett's Chest and Inventive Backpack, 9K Electronics, SP on Mask, Knees & Backpack with Electronics with Skill Power mods in all pieces of gear. You can even elect to run some Sticky Bomb Explosion Radius mods as well as Sticky Bomb damage mods for a wider spread, I love the re-emergence of the Sticky Bomb!

For my money 1.8 is the best and most diverse patch we've had to date, whether it be PvE or PvP there are so many options for builds which means you can enjoy different playstyles for the content making the grind less repetitive. Who would have ever thought you could PvP with the Showstopper or a LMG and destroy players. I'm having more fun than I've had in ages with the game.

Well done Massive and Redstorm, finally a decent patch, if a little late in the day!

    So what? It still happens.
    Fire at the ground, duh.

And yes the point was ever bit as much as not having to aim. It was point in the general direction and score a freekill.

AI would just run out of the blasts radius. It was the players that couldn't figure that one out.
