I am sad Ubisoft, because of you...

I was excited, i was so close to pre order the game and then i saw my Beta Invite.
I was happier than anyone could have imagined, playing a game that i am following for months now, waiting so patiently.
I preloaded it, counting the minutes till the start of the beta servers... wait servers? No sorry just Login Servers, you know for... who knows for what. I am forced to be online the whole time to play this, but when it actually comes to playing i have to experience p2p? Good job cheap *** ubisoft, as far as i have understood the whole thing "For Honor" is a game about intense Duels against each other, feeling the war....

"For Honor features several exciting game modes that pit players against one another, such as: 4v4 Dominion, 2v2 Brawls, 1v1 Duels, 4v4 Team Death Matches, and 4v4 Elimination."
This is what stands on the For Honor website. But hey i am a nice person so i will rewrite it for you for a better fitting Info.
"For Honor features serveral exciting game modes which are all interrupted in the middle of the game because the Host ragequits leaving everyone in the Game EXCITINGLY waiting several minutes for a new Host, BUT SUDDENLY, as the new Person will be elected everyone else will have left the game. 4v4 Lag Spikes, 2v2 Red Connection pictures, 1v1 Duels against Dimitry from Russia who will blink you to death because he was the lucky one who got to be the Host, 4v4 Team waiting for miserable matchmaking putting your whole level 1 Team against level 7 People, and last but not least 4v4 Elimination where at least 2 Person will drop out."

Ubisoft? Really? What is wrong with you? Creating a competetive online game, without dedicated servers? If you want to create such a game then you have to get the down sites of it aswell. I dont buy a Supercar and expect not to pay way more taxes and gasoline. But hey if i am willing to spend money on a Supercar then i will have a good experience and everyone else who will drive it will have it aswell.

Maybe the metaphor is bad af. But i dont care, giving Ubisoft one chance after another makes you braindead, trying to understand what is going on in their minds. You were once a big respected Publisher but those were the good old days, its sad to say but even EA is better than you...

I will give the game maybe 3 months and then the Active Player count will be so low that there will never be a For Honor 2. No Patches, loveless meaningless DLCs will come for everyone who was dumb enough to purchase the Season Pass. Keeping their promises and weep it under the Carpet as soon as the last DLC will be rolled out.

Yes i am mad, i am mad because Ubisoft has TONS of good Ideas for new Games, they are willing to try out new stuff, one of the last big Publishers who do it. But they are doing it without love and patience, without putting any thougts for the experience you will have with the game. And before you guys judge me saying "Another troll great" or "Another CS kid", be honest to yourself, how long will you play this game if every 2nd Round will get interrupted cause of ragequitters, laggers, dropouts? Sure your excitment for the game is high enough at the moment to ignore it, saying to yourself "Its a beta of course its not perfect yet", but believe me there wont be much that will change.

For everyone who is SERIOUSLY enjoying this type of game experience, i am happy for you and i hope you will have fun playing this, but i for myself who wants to enjoy an flawless match without lagspikes and interruptions this isnt the way. Its 2017 dedicated servers is the least a big company can do. Or atleast give the customer the chance to rent Servers. This isnt anything new, ARK/Battlefield/Rust from indie to Big well known Publishers is it possible. Everything is better than Peer to Peer connections.

And for everyone who dont really knows what i am talking about:

Note: It wasnt recorded by myself nor from someone i know its just something i found on youtube but it fits PERFECTLY what i have experienced in 9 out of 10 Rounds.

If you have to put microtransactions in the Game i dont care as long as it is only cosmectic stuff, as long as it can finance the dedicated servers... thats all i want.

Oh boy. First I read between the lines because you created a Novel here). But doing this made me read the entire text carefully. P2P? This is bad. I agree with you entirely. There goes my thought of day 1 buy. Are you reading this Ubisoft? If you care about us, dedicated servers is a priority. If the game launches with P2P and rage quitters makes the online experience a hell, I will wait for a big, big sale before I buy the game. Fix this!!!!

I just didnt want to come along like a pissed off 12 year old and wanted to show that i am not one of those who just simply hates the game, i think it has great potential but i am not willing to pay a cent for something that i cant play simply because it depends on a computer of someone else... After all they are a Company who wants to earn money, and i am not sure how long if this goes well for them if they cut really neccesary things off. I may be go 2 or 3 times into a restaurant where the food tastes badly but after the 3rd time i will never waste a second of my life or my hard earned money on a bad product. Same goes for Ubisoft, they are a big company who makes money for now, but this can change well if they dont treat the customers right

Ok, hold on a minute. It appears that we revolted too soon. Ubisoft uses P2P connection for beta testing only. It's doing the same thing with Wildlands and it did so with Rainbow six Siege. I can assure you that this information is legit and verified. So the game will have dedicated servers at launch.

My experiences are totally different from yours.... I had totally smooth games without interruptions for 8 hours. I did only play 1v1 and 2v2, though.

The only time i had a server disconnection was when they had to fix something around 22p.m. CET and they announced that (the message is shown in the right bottom corner.

I hope you will have more luck today !

@Bobyslick: Wait until release if you prefer that, but Cyresdog's experiences are not representative in my opinion. Have a look at the hall of Heroes stream and you will find out that the beta works fine. Also, the video he posted is from the Alpha tech-test.

Sometimes you can get disconnected from a match, but thankfully usually at the beginning, and sometimes the game abruptly stops for a few seconds (sometimes in-mid swing).

I would still reserve judgement at the end of the beta.
Because P2P connection has more to do with just rage quitters and internet connection. There is also NAT type, router configuration, firewalls, etc. It is a poor choice for online gaming, but no ones keeps a dedicated server running for a 3 days beta. Also it's intended for us to get a feeling of the game mechanics before we choose to buy it or ... not. So giving it as it is, love it or hate it. There is no in between. : )))

Yes, most betas do an open beta just to test their servers.

Wait, were you trying to agree or disagree with me here? I got lost in words there.

Could you give me a link for that statement? Cause all i can find is that Ubisoft already stated more than just one time that their wont be dedicated servers for this Game. And of course they would have dedicated servers just for 3 days because every company in this world is making a server stress test whenever its possible

Bump i want an answer on this. I have heard it's peer to peer as well if so this alone will kill the game; as it ruins any hope of skillful combat.
