I share some of these sentiments. I love the game concept, the mechanics as I understand them. There are some things I wish added or improved, but I could get behind this - were it not for the fact that I am finding the experience really frustrating. I was not in the alpha, so I'm new here for the beta. My fighting game skills are rusty as it's been years since I mainlined those, and my reflexes maybe are not what they used to be - or it's just muscle memory for a new game. But whatever it is, it's really hard for me.

That's why I added to a post in the Mode feedback section that the game really needs a Training Mode. Remember the really neat one from Soul Calibur II (at least I think that's where it was) where you could pick a fighter to face off against and set all sorts of parameters? You could set aggression level, attack or defend only, counterattack only, just stand there, just run around, attack with only this kind of attack or that kind, etc. Then you could actually focus for a little bit on improving a specific skill. I personally am finding it difficult to do so in combat as a new player versus skilled players, and not really much more success versus bots either (they shift stance and attack direction pretty fast, and sometimes I just want to work on one skill set over and over for a bit). I really need something like that. Don't know if anyone else does.

I'll keep working on it over the weekend, but I don't really see myself getting over the hump to where I'm having fun with it.

But it is. No one is amazing at this game yet except for the few people out there that are fighting game prodigies. It's not "unfairly balanced". You can't learn what is balanced and what isn't that fast without getting a better understanding of the game. And then being able to APPLY that knowledge. It takes time to build muscle memory and the like. A guy who jumps into street fighter and gets killed by the same move over and over because he's new and doesn't understand it doesn't mean it is unfairly balanced. It means JUST SHORYUKEN. Haha. As far as a two second delay with your button inputs. I think that's on you friend. Because I don't have that problem and none of the people I'm fighting seem to. Might be a hardware thing on your end.

Beta but realease on Feb 14

First of all; it's a beta. You are helping them test things. You need to align your expectations with the beta you are experiencing. You can't buy it yet because not everything is done and working as intended. So expect snags. I'm sitting here writing this because I can't play right now because I'm getting an, as of yet, unsolved error code. This is part of the beta process.

Secondly; blocking works fine. You are playing a game with a learning curve that has many nuances and a great deal of depth that you need to learn. The only way you are going to get better is to play and grow. You will not instantly be good. No matter how good you think you should be. That's going to take time and you're going to die. Probably a lot. But it makes it all the more rewarding as, you get better, you do less dying and far more killing. It's for people who enjoy games like that. You don't sound like one of them. Everybody is not going to be disappointed because most people who are going to play this are people who enjoy fighting games, strategy games and other games that require thought process, critical thinking, and skill. Again; you don't sound like one of them. I've played all the alphas and the technical tests and the majority of people don't even know how to parry people. An integral part of the game that plenty of people just ignore. They play dominion and run around mashing heavy attack. This is not the game for them.

@Darksavior The idea of Dominion in my opinion is not to have two deathball squads running around "working together". It's to have individual heroes in integral places on the map that can then "work together" to hold the entire map. It's not TDM. There is an object and that's the goal. Getting kills helps with this but it's not the goal. The better you get, the less the "glass cannons" are a problem, and more quick kills because they have low health =)
I don't think this game is going to change much before the 14th . I think they do these to see what the reaction is going to be from the public, and so far..NOT GOOD! I wasn't impressed with the gameplay nor the content. I got bored with it after an hour and kept on playing only to find out I cant play the fun mode which is the one with the most players.
The mechanics are fidgety and the game contains no real eye candy nor impressive sound effects. for a minute there I thougt I was at my granfathers civil war re enactment.

I find the game very enjoyable. But i would only play with a controller, keyboard and mouse controls are terrible.

I don't get any of these complaints

I think all of the mechanics work really well when I do it correctly and time everything right. It's tricky, but I've really enjoyed that about it so far. Dominion is perfectly fine. I think the presence of minions or whatever they're called adds to the chaos and makes it a little more unpredictable, kind of like a real battle would be. Kill stealing doesn't concern me that much, but I'm one of the rare people that just cares about playing well and winning instead of having incredible post-game stats. If I could actually get in games then this would be great.

I'd say my overall satisfaction with the game is around 70%. As it's in CBT, my expectations are low and will definitely encounter errors and wanting some things to be reworked on. Playing on PC with the mouse and keyboard feels weird but I am trying to get used to it (hopefully, we can remapped certain keys). I must agree with one user about adding a Training Mode/Area. I could just play with the AIs but I just want to try things out, on a training dummy like in the practicing area so I could get comfy with the controls in a longer period without the hassle of outside elements.

I have no issues with kill stealing either as long as it helps the team win. Some scenarios where it sucks because I owned that guy and want that finishing blow but there are also scenarios where I just want the enemy dead and move along to capture another objective or help another teammate.

No offense but, if you are looking for a simple multiplayer game, there are a lot of shooter out there; they are almoust all the same so, yeah, they are pretty simple i suppose.

The controls aren't too complicated. I like the game has depth.

The problem is a few very stupid features.

Guard break and unblockables make the directional block system pointless. The flinck when getting hit and blockiing is stupid too. If you want to hit someone with a combo, you should have to change attack direction for each individual part of the combo.

Personally I had no issues with the controls playing on a console and the mechanics. I found the tutorial to be ok with teaching you the basics. They could add a few more things like how to revive but i picked up on that fast without much trouble. Practice with bots always helps before you go out to play against players and get steamrolled by ganks etc which would discourage new players.

The game isn't exactly easy but i wouldn't call it complicated either, i found it to be pretty straight forward and with some practice once can be well.. decent at it.

It's hilarious to me that EVERYONE that says anything to someone complaining about this game says "go play shooters" as if all shooters are just incredibly simple. play Rainbow Six: Siege and tell us how simple it is and how much like battlefield or counter strike it is. spoiler alert: it's not. Rainbow Six is more complex than this game will EVER be. generalizing an entire genre is idiotic.

anyways, stifling others opinions on this game is pointless. this beta is a ****ing mess. look at the countless posts of people having problems. after having to repair the preload and then redownload again, it took TWO HOURS to actually get in a match past the load screen. this is just my experience. tons of people are complaining about disconnections or not even being able to launch the game. can't test a beta if you can barely even play it. we can't just give them a free pass cause "it's a beta". that's not how it works AT ALL. then again what do I care? I uninstalled this garbage already so no worries here.
