I had never contemplated this route before the KTM event but the 450 has so much launch I've been trying it.
Are you going forward first or reverse first on drifter valley during the KTM event?
Right now I'm saying reverse then launch the gap but I'm far from the best rider here. Curious what the fast guys are doing and if they could do it on other tier 2 bikes prior to the event.
reverse my friend
drive backwards, lean forward and do the bunnyhop before the platform ends. this should solve the big jump. here you can see the jump in a video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VO3GjiK0OfI
cheers
He should watch me do it, my landing's cleaner and my time's better
I actually had one attempt where I landed a massive front fork endo that sprang me over the ramp at the end of the platform. Unfortunately I screwed up elsewhere or it would have been a ridiculously fast time. If you can intentionally pull that move it would shave a full second off.
And... my new time of 21.959 confirms my "looks like a crash but was intentional" endo theory. Moved me way up to 393 on drifter valley.
If you wanna get real snazzy and save time, land on your front wheel at about a 45-50 degree angle, and bounce over the ramp!![]()

With this new bike jumping the gap is easier then with tier 2 bikes. I found that if you lean forward while in reverse, but don't go all the way back to the wall I get more launch. Timing the hop is more crucial though. In the air I have my front tire up, and just before hitting the platform I lean forward and hit front tire first.( But let off gas) this will pop you back up into a wheelie and if done just right, you can give a little gas and lean forward at the platforms ramp and flip over it without getting much air. If done really really well( or with much luck ) it will flip you over the ramp and down onto the second drop of the following ramp(hill) below( past the little crest in the middle of it ). That was how I finally got a decent time. And all of this certainly much easier with the 450. Good luck
